the psg link was true, onyekuru even had medicals in paris and the plan was to loan him to amiens in same ligue 1 before he opted for everton. the bayern link seem bogus but he is not lacking suitors with the likes of valencia and sevilla very interested to hv him
Barryseal:

I've never believed Onyekuru's link with Bayern Munich. His agent have a way they wip up links with big clubs. They played this game to perfection when they linked him to PSG and he signed for Everton. I think, the link to Bayern will see him land in a decent club, not Bayern.

Really surprised to see some notable member of this great thread talking about age cheats as if it just started and as if it only happen in football.

I remember Kokmne always saying don’t go there cos nothing we can do about it due to our bad system.

It is a pity that this always happens and do we blame the boys for this?it was what their parents did and are still doing in civil service by reducing their age to stay long in the service.

When it comes to age cheat,Nigeria is a poo and it cut across all sectors.

Even if its possible to cheat in the US and other developed countries, why should they try it?
Having successful football career isn't really a priority for most people in developed countries. its more of a passion...an hobby...
You can have a failed football career in a developed country and still go ahead to have a successful career in other field...

But in Africa and other developing countries, people see football as a means of escaping poverty.. That's why they are willing to do anything.

The US and Europe don't need to parade age cheats in underage football tournaments.. to them, winning is secondary. development is the primary aim...

Alright bro

But am yet to accuse any us or Europe player sha

I have never ruled out age cheating in our football circles. I am close enough to the national team circles to affirm there is age cheating.
But what i have always maintained is that it is not as prevalent as peeps here term it to be. I know a couple of ex- internationals that used their real age yet some peeps here will argue they are age cheats just based on facial looks.

It is on this same thread that we battled to defend the ages of players like Iheanacho, Success, Awoniyi, Chukwueze etc even despite we knowing how difficult it is for Players to cheat the MRI. Even the current Golden Eaglets, watch how they will come out again as start pointing age cheat fingers at them in the U17 WC or a couple of years time.

I do not rule out the possibility of age cheating in this Flying Eagles, but I will always get my facts before pointing fingers.

Morever, this is an internationally read thread and so we must guard our utterances.

That said I am not in argument with anyone whatsoever on this Flying Eagles matter. Anyone who finds there faces disturbing can as well go for walk while our game is on grin

Oga, it's true that age cheating is a general problem in Nigeria.

However, in football, age cheating is a matter of choice. Are the authorities telling us there are no qualified players below 20 years for this tournament. All because of fear of failure we keep sticking with fraud.

In the end, we'll keep on complaining that our players don't have a long lasting football career. How many of the so called u17 of 2007 are still active today? These are guys that should probably be at the peak of their career now if not for age falsification.

Same here. IMO he was the 3rd best performing player in that AYC Team, just after Ozornwafor and Oremade. I just hope the current Ozornwafor's CB partner justifies his inclusion.

There's a difference with a hungry young person with a confirmed old man pretending to be young.
All this "player looks old because of sufferhead" no follow.
Until we start being honest with ourselves and keep harassing NFF(like has been the case over the last few weeks) 2050 will come and we'll still be talking about the same issue on the same scale.

Icon4s how ugly are these Malians compared to our boys, yet they(Malians) are all looking 20 and below? Most of the Malians look as young as our own Makanjoula. Boubacar Konte in particular looks 16, and he is a very big upgrade on all the useless over aged carpenters we took this tourney as wingers.

I dont think Enugu people appreciate the term "wawa." Its not a term of endearment. But, you are not far from the truth Offia is primarily Anambra name and maybe Enugu.

Offia may also be an Abia name.

I know people from Ohafia L.G.A in particular pronounce "bush" as "Offia".

There are names which are trenchant to particular places in Igbo land bro. Ofia is very much an Enugu name as it is an Anambra name. Names are so discrete here that u can easily tell where one is from by simply checking his surname. When u see names like Nmecha, Kalu, Ugoagha, Chigbu, Ndukwe, Ikonne et al, no check am twice na Abia people. When u see Ozornwafor, Ozormgbechi, Ozokafor, ozornwokoro, ozokeke, infact anything with an ozor attached, no check am, na Ezeagu people of enugu, names like ogbodo, Ani, Nwobodo, Onovo et al na dem Nkanu people of enugu while Nsukka na Odoh, Nwodo, Ezea, Asogwa et al. But when u see names like Opara, Gbuji, Osuji, Iwu, Ilonu, Iwuagwu, Osuagwu et al na dem Imo people. When the names are so strange and awkward e.g nwautobo(little baboon) , Mgbada( deer), Nwanshi(little feacal matter), Nwaene(calf of an antelope) , Nwanza(the smallest of the birds) et al na Ebonyi people.

About wawa, weda dem like am or not, we go dey call dem Dat grin
