I am of the opinion that winning this AFCON would make it easier for us to convince the really good foreign born lads to play for us thereafter

Same here bro. To me Aina's success with the Eagles at this afcon is already swaying some of them, especially the ones he is close friends with.

"Our football has regressed while theirs have improved"

Yes and I stand by that. Theirs have improved no doubt and that's true when you look at their league and the recent head to head against us

I didn't say that they have improved to a point where they are better than us. Please understand.

We have dominated them for several years while their favorable results against us is recent. That doesn't make them better than us.

But the truth is our football has regressed. When you compare the team of 2004 and now (not even 2000 or 1994 or even 1998).

Please what's the weakness

How many times have we suffered with the weakness

Is he the only player in out team with a weakness??

And if indeed he's truly got a weakness like y'all making it to be, don't you think the coaches,GK trainer have some kind of counter to the weakness....

I'm not surprised if it's coming from the southi fans, well what do you expect, if I was a zuluman I would say the same, but coming from you that's crap....come to think of it, what's stopping the pirates or whatever supporters to get a Good goalkeeper, is the club so broke to afford one or there is really no better Goal keeper in the whole of South Africa to bench Akpeyi

Lol...issokay...we have heard

We have heard. I had replied you on this earlier

We benching Akpeyi is a sensible precaution and at the same time, Akpeyi sharing some info on the weaknesses of SA players would give us a double advantage. Simple. No need for quarrel

I put team 2000 and 1998 in parentheses because they are better than the team of 2004. Not because they are worse

Understand me please. The achievements of the team from 1994-2004 dwarves the achievement of the team from 2016 (when Rohr took over)

Although, the team of now is still in contention to enter the Semi-final and I believe they would do so, yet they have not won anything. No medal (not even the bronze) but they are getting there

Lookman is now "close" to Nigeria.

I think almost all of them will want to play for Nigeria.

I will like to have Seyi Ojo too.

2013 Afcon in their land Baba stay one place....support either Nigeria or southi but not the 2 together....

And pls don't bring their league into the matter, it's always been finer than our own, besides how many times have they won the CAF champions league in the past 10 years? Once....

Oga be specific. u started with the 1994, 1998 and 2000 team and now u extend it to 2004. 1994-2004 is 10 years. Why did u jump to Rohr 's team of 2016?
What happened to Keshi and Amodu team of 2005-2015?
If u are trying to say Rohr's team hasn't archived anything in comparison to the team of 1994-2004, then be fair my giving Rohr 7 more years....

Our football has regressed. The NFF was in ruins during that time period even till today. Pinnick is just doing his best to be diplomatic.

As it is now, would you give Rohr seven more years?

Odemwigie was in super form. I saw him played then.

Keshi never wanted to invite some players. It was not about not being fit into how he wanted to play. Obafemi Martins was the best Nigerian striker in Europe prior to the AFCON.

Why take Uzeonyi who was poor through out the qualifiers when we had Odemwigie and Martins?

Odemwigie had problems with him because of his bias selection. It is not acceptable.
Keshi dropped Osaze because he requested shuttle between AFCON and playing for West Brom(and also something involving seeing his kid).
Like I said - in as much as Osaze should have been at that AFCON, we still had enough options upfront and out wide.
As for Martins - well we saw that Keshi liked playing with target men upfront e.g Emenike, Ideye, Shola Ameobi, Bright Dike.

He connects defence to attack and he makes his share of passes. I feel those are most important because he gives his guys the platform to play their football.

I can't argue that, he really knows how to get the ball from his defense to the midfield, then attack, but those killer passes that split open their opposition belong to Zungu. That said, I dont regard Dean Furman bkus he isnt inventive, neither is he daring with his passes, he doesnt take risks unlike Zungu. He prefers short exchange of passes with his CBs and the closest midfielder to him. He hardly assists a goal or gives a wicked pass that leaves opponents in his wake.
