Meanwhile, Nigeria's medal count at the African games has been pilling up ..we have so far dominated athletics and weightlifting and also dominating wrestling... however the best we will finish is 2nd . Egypt already swept most of the gold. especially in sports that Nigeria isn't good at..swimming being chief among them..Egypt and south Africa swooped more than 30 medals each in swimming alone..

Our government need to do more!!

No one said that but a year or two. Making a fight for game time, while still in the aura of a young player comes after. If he feels he is ready, he got my blessings.
Lol, your blessing is all he's been waiting for, thank you

I made it clear. I wonder the misconception. Improving and advancing in knowing the best positions to get the most of his talent is most important. Then he needs game time to show it. So where you got remaining on the bench baffles me.

Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara has suggested to The Scottish Sun that Joe Aribo is good enough to play in the Premier League.

Aribo joined Rangers in the summer transfer window after leaving Charlton Athletic in England at the end of last season.

The 23-year-old midfielder has established himself as an important player in Steven Gerrard’s team and has been playing well for the Gers this season.

Best Current Uncapped England XI
Rangers midfielder Kamara believes that the Englishman is good enough to play in the Premier League, and has suggested that he is complete.

Kamara told The Scottish Sun when asked how far Aribo can go: “Far, he’s definitely going very far. Premier League. In fact, anything he wants to be.

“I think he has a lot of attributes that probably not everyone has. He brings calmness, he tackles, he scores goals, he has a bit of everything.”

Joe Aribo of Rangers FC competes with Radoslaw Majecki of Legia during the UEFA Europa League Play Off First Leg match between Legia Warsaw and Rangers FC on August 22, 2019 in Warsaw,...

Star in the marking

Aribo did well for Charlton last season and was a key figure in the Addicks clinching promotion from League One to the Championship.

The 23-year-old can still improve and develop, but from what he has shown at Rangers this season, the attack-minded midfielder can go places.

Rangers will hope that they can hold onto the Englishman for years to come, as the Gers aim to launch a consistent challenge to bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title.

Rangers star Joe Aribo has opened up to ESPN about his decision to join the Gers this summer.

It was reported that the 23-year-old midfielder had options on the table from a vast number of clubs [Scottish Sun], but in the end, he chose to join Steven Gerrard at Ibrox.

It was a call which didn’t go down overly well at Charlton, with manager Lee Bowyer [Daily Record] and club legend Chris Powell [News Shopper], both criticising the player’s decision.

The player himself admits that apprehension surrounded the move, as he upped sticks from London and headed for Scotland.

“I was a bit nervous at first when I got here,” Aribo told ESPN. “It’s about going somewhere where you are not comfortable.”

“With Charlton I was there for four years so I was comfortable. This was just going into a new environment and there are lot of different people that you don’t know and you want to make a good first impression.

“You’re just hesitant and you don’t want to seem silly so that’s why I was a bit nervous.”

Now, he’s starring in light blue week in, week out.

Verdict
Nerves may have been a factor early on for Aribo, but they certainly haven’t showed in his performances. For a young player, he’s impressively assured on the ball and being a left-footer, he brings a different dimension to the Gers midfield.

Since scoring on his first competitive appearance at Ibrox against St Joseph’s, things have gone extremely well for the rangy midfielder.

He’s one of the first names on the teamsheet right now, and he’s already won the affection of the Rangers faithful.

An international call-up for Nigeria is a just reward for his fine start to life at Ibrox and if he continues in this fashion, there’ll be plenty of accolades for him down the line.

Southgate On Tammy Abraham

The 48-year-old boss has stated he is monitoring the Anglo-Nigerian even though he was not selected for the latest Three Lions' squad

Chelsea star Tammy Abraham could be invited to the England squad in the near future, according to coach Gareth Southgate.

"Tammy is one of a number of players who have either started the season well or we know well from our junior teams. This squad can look different over the next months," Southgate said.

Lille Coach, Christophe Galtier On Victor Osimhen

**Why I dropped Victor to the bench for the Saint Ettienne game- Galtier to LOSC Lille Site.

"Victor Osimhen is only 20-years-old, so he has a lot of room for improvement,” Galtier told the club website.

“He's going to get better physically because I remember he only had seven days off this summer. I hope that he will go better and better.”

The 20-year-old teamed up with Lille in the summer as a direct replacement for Nicolas Pepe, who joined Premier League side Arsenal in a club-record fee of £72 million.

Osimhen immediately hit the ground running, scoring a brace in his debut appearance for the Great Danes in their 2-1 victory over Nantes.

Despite the convincing showings, the forward who is part of the Super Eagles 24-man squad for September’s friendly game against Ukraine, was dropped to the bench with Remy preferred ahead of him.

“I had made the choice not to start him, despite his magnificent start especially against Nantes, because after the match in Reims, Victor will fly to participate in two games with his national team,” the Lille boss continued.

“I was very happy with Loic Remy during the preparation, he unfortunately quickly hurt himself. This is the advantage of having a workforce like ours, with Victor, who came back without asking any questions.

“He understood my choice to put him on the substitutes' bench, and he came back to be decisive. I think about the goals, of course, but also about what I'm looking for in the game of an attacker: to put intensity and to press forward."
