Manuel Akanji's brace for Basel

we just can't invite all this boys..at the same time
after all we can only field 11 players at same time

he is great lad though... but I doubt if rohr could see anything for now outside the dutch, German French and English league
even Belgium... I don't think he regard the league that much because if he does Henry would have been invited to the SE

Yes, but he is worth looking at for the future... We do not have too many options at CB. Balogun is injury prone..Ekong and Omeruo are the only other natural CB. Awaziem is still pretty young and playing for Porto B. Agbo is more of a DM..

Cole was on his way out. I do not understand why he is in the discussion. As for Gibbs, pure Arsenal hype. Time told who was the better player. Even as a left back, Bale made some extraordinary performances. Typical Wenger. Gibbs better than Bale.
Bale was liability at left back. Tottenham couldn't register a win in his first 24 games for the club as a left back! Harry Rednapp considered selling him to Birmingham at a point.
Seeing Bale's career turn around is nothing but miracle.

Mourinho likes big Market players. At this point, he can bid for Ndidi but under $20M, not Mourinho's style. At least, he is not STINGY. grin
him and Wenger has a problem...
to be honest man u needs a good DM
that will enable pogba to be more fluid in the middle
well that's his problem... let him keep going after big names with huge price stag after all man u has money to spend

yeah..
but if we must cap him...we need to act fast so fast....
Basel is the eye of the swiss league....with such a blazing performance he will likely be capped by Switzerland soonest.

someone need to tell rohr about him..

Not gibbs, Clichy. Fact was as at 2006, Clichy was a FAR better left back than bale. No one would even argue that. So missing out on bale was understandable. He wasn't extraordinary at left back. He had a few good performances when Redknapp came in and eventually got pushed upfront. He was going to get sold. I remember there was this stat about Tottenham not winning 20 games or so Bale played in.

Please, Jeffers to Ibrahimovic was a joke. Arsenal could afford CR7 if he put into context the massive gain Arsenal would make for such a young forward. That is my criticism. Wenger walked away repeatedly from Gold mines because of some of his voodoo financial plans.

This in question were two of the future best players in the World. As for Sahin, I am talking of sealing him before he went to Dortmund. Wenger made lots of mistakes and no defence for that.
Arsenal at that moment did not need Ibra. Ibra wasn't a great goal scorer then, he just scored great goals. Ibra won his first golden boot at 28. Kanu, Henry, Bergkamp were still around. What was needed was someone like Van Nistelrooy not Ibra.

True..... but his (Otigba's) quality is not in doubt. He has done it in The Netherlands and now he is in Turkey. Former captain of the Hungarian U-21 side. I think Otigba needs his shot with the Eagles as another experienced Quality Backup to our Oyibo wall........

Meanwhile.... this Manuel Akanji is one for the future shaa ...... it will be good to have another goalscoring defender in our team.

He can score and can defend.... that's pretty cool.... well... he's still just 21. Hope Rohr looks his way.... in the long run.

I understand he has turned out for the Swiss u-21 side. Hope the Swiss senior side don't get to him first.

But I believe Akanji has his heart on the Super Eagles. smiley

You have to wake up to the reality tht millions of kids in Nigeria do not go to school. You cannot rely on our school system alone to produce the next Messi. This is unique to us. This is not England
goldfish80:

You have to wake up and smell the coffee. Not every talented kid in the street will end up playing for Nigeria. Everybody cannot meet the standard. That's the gospel truth.

Your last sentence though. It's funny u fail to realize that the issue of illiteracy is not due to kids refusal to school. They are too young to make that decision or themselves. I believe many of us educated ones were prodded at one point in time to go to school.

A super talented kid only needs to wear the kit of a company to promote it. There are gray areas my friend. This thing is not black or white. You cannot shut the door to kids in the streets because of poverty or their parents' failure to give them basic education

goldfish80:

Dedication and talent is not just enough sometimes. Lack of basic education could be a major hindrance to their careers. An illiterate boy from Africa is unsellable. Football is more than just kicking the ball around.
You have to sign contracts, engage the media, fans and your team mates. How do you expect addidas and Nike to sign up an illiterate to represent them.
Kids must be made to understand football cannot be divorced from education. That is the hard truth.

You speak as if you can't find talented kids in school. Have you heard about the Principal's cup? Have you heard about shell cup? Do you know most of our cadet players in the past came through those competitions? Stark illiteracy won't get anyone to the top in professional sports in 2017, except you prefer to live in delusion.

Nigeria's Super Sand Eagles: A Look At Their Chances In Bahamas

The road to Bahamas

With the home crowd behind them, Nigeria embarked on their 2016 CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations campaign on 13 December last year with high hopes of capturing the trophy and drawing level with Senegal as the competition's most decorated team.

Despite being beaten 3-1 on penalties by Côte d'Ivoire (4-4 aet) in the group stage, they advanced to the semi-finals courtesy of narrow wins over Egypt (3-2) and Ghana (4-3). They then swept past Morocco 6-1 in the last four to clinch a berth at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Bahamas 2017.

However, there was to be no fairy-tale ending for the hosts, who were powerless to prevent Senegal securing a fourth crown with an 8-4 victory in the final on 18 December, a result that cemented the Lions of Teranga's position as Africa's champions on the sand.

Strengths and style

Nigeria have ended a six-year spell in the Beach Soccer World Cup wilderness in large part thanks to the brilliance of Emeka Ogbonna, who collected the Most Valuable Player award at the qualifying event. He was undoubtedly the most influential figure behind his side's successful showing at the tournament, popping up with no fewer than six goals and tipping the balance in the Super Sand Eagles' favour at crunch moments. Honourable mentions also go to forward Isiaka Olawale and defender Victor Tale, who made key contributions.

FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup record

Nigeria have taken part in four editions of the Beach Soccer World Cup, all from 2006 to 2011, a period when they only missed out on Marseille 2008. Their best performances came at Rio de Janeiro 2007 and Ravenna/Italy 2011, when they progressed from the group stage before succumbing to Uruguay and Brazil respectively in the quarter-finals.

The Nigerians failed to qualify for either Tahiti 2013 or Portugal 2015.

But contrary to what pple think he performed more than i expected at Rio.

Jst 19, he has a lot to learn. He will for now just lump him into the basket of our teem strikers/forwards. Other players in that basket: Victor Osimhen, Taiwo Awoniyi, Orji Okonkwo, Henry Onyekuru, Steven Odey among others.

Celtic Target Onyekuru Fires Brace To Take Season Tally To 15 In Front Of Scouts From West Ham

Highly rated Nigerian forward Henry Onyekuru continued his rich vein of form for Belgium side Eupen with a brace in their 2-2 draw against Roeselare.

Second division side Roeselare found the Nigerian forward a hard nut to crack in the Belgium League qualification play off, pulling his side from two goals down to draw 2-2.

Two quick goals from Roselare who are battling to qualify for the top league in Belgium via the play off put them in the driving seat, before Onyekuru struck to break their heart.

Onyekuru drew his side level with two well taken place goals in the 53rd and 76th minute to take his season tally to 15 in all competitions, aside picking up 7 assists in what is his debut season in the Belgium top flight.

In January, the 19 year old went on strike to force a move to Scottish side Celtic, but reports from sources in Belgium has it that scouts from English Premier League side West Ham were at the Kehrwegstadion to run the rule on the hot in demand forward.
