winning the afcon hide so many deficiencies in his team. i give him credit for achieving the feat but commend the players more who fought and never gave up against CIV in the quarter finals. after defeating the Ivorians the players had this belief that the trophy is theirs to loss. during the group stage matches keshi's tactical approach was very poor that it took moses's individual brilliance against Ethiopia to propel the team to the quarter finals. tbaba1234: 1 Like |

I saw the way and manner in which he took that goal. He caught the Ajax defender in possession, won the ball off him, sprinted a couple of meters into the 18 yard box and powered a fine strike past Onana. Well taken goal by Dessers. We should be looking at him and Sadiq soon enough if they keep this up going into the new year. I understand Onuachu scored too. Infact, he would have had a brace but his second goal was chalked off. But lad is still not the genuine answer to the "Backup role" to Osimhen. Getting the best of Onuachu would mean an alteration in our playing style in the final third. maidaboi: 2 Likes |

abcnn: I wonder where you got Brendan Rodgers will play Kelechi Iheanacho from. My point has always been Iheanacho at the moment should concentrate on developing his tactical acumen and not focus on playing time. After learning he can go out and look for playing time. But, see what you are typing. TheGoodJoe: https://www.nairaland.com/3018619/super-eagles-thread-dawn-new/5553#76217196 1 Like |

edi287: Any suggestion for a big defensive midfielder Keshi should have called instead of Ruben? I am pointing out that we did not have enough young players for Keshi to work with. He made up with tactics and scouting. That is why we had unknown players and players with few appearances popping up. Keshi deserved praises but got ridicule for doing a brilliant work. 2 Likes |

OMANBALA1:I want to believe that ROHR hasn't failed within the constitutional context and rule of His engagement though. Because the truth is contracts are classified documents but part of the contractual agreement reads that ROHR should qualify NIGERIA for RUSSIA 2018 World Cup, EGYPT 2019 AFCON finals and at least it Semi final reach following our failure to qualify for the previous 2 AFCON finals Besides, NFF has no issue with retaining him except for certain changes to be made like : According to the NFF boss and I quote ''The truth is contracts are classified documents but one thing I know that we are going to pass on to him is to strengthen the clauses that domesticate Gernot himself in Nigeria and domestic him to our leagues, that's just it. ''He needs to go round, watch some of the leagues, we are not saying take a player from here and bring him to the Super Eagles immediately''. Teams managed by ROHR 1990 Bordeaux 1991–1992 Bordeaux 1996 Bordeaux 1999–2000 Créteil 2002–2005 Nice 2005–2006 Young Boys 2007–2008 Ajaccio 2008–2009 Étoile Sahel of Tunisia 2009 Nantes 2010–2012 Gabon 2012–2014 Niger 2015 Burkina Faso 2016– Nigeria The coaching profile of ROHR is why we say Our Indigenous coaches should go test themselves else where first and not turn our super Eagles to on the job learning ground 1 Like 1 Share |

tbaba1234: We did not have players. You have no concrete reason to call Keshi corrupt. Nothing caught up with Keshi. It was a lot of problems from his non payment, NFF repeated battle including sacking him while on the qualifiers, players owed bonuses and injury. We were totally hampered by the injury of Hope Akpan who had shore up the defence. So what will you call Mikel leaving the team by Rohr? Fantastic man management? Sometimes senior players do not agree with the direction of managers. Leaving is the right thing to do for the health of the team. |

Kbs468: Very few European clubs will give our coaches jobs despite how good they are. By the way, I am glad they have pointed out that Rohr should watch the local league. He has been too poor in that respect and people keep quiet about it. Wish him the best but Rohr needs to show improvement with respect to harnessing talents from the local scene. |

darkelf:just one match? Are you serious? Someone that is top scorer for his club Someone that has scored 4 goals in 5 games this year and had two assists. So, all of that is one match in your books? You people should allow people hold their beliefs in peace on this thread without being up in arms. This is a Super Eagles thread, I don't know what you expect people to say. |

TheGoodJoe: What point are you trying to make with Mikel? So, we did not have players, that is why Keshi took a 37-year old Shola Ameobi to the World Cup, alongside a host of other certified carpenters? |
