Why do I think this racism of a thing is overblown.
One life principle is that once people find a perfect weapon against you and you externally shows them it pains, they will continually use it against you anytime they want. The best thing is to find a perfect antidote which to me is to use the weapon(racism) to your best advantage. Take for instance, Dani Alves , he was racially abused.A banana was thrown at him when he was about to take a corner, he neither whined nor walked out of the field, he picked it up , ate it and went ahead to bag an assist from the corner kick. You were racially abused and u angrily left the field, that to me feels like u are not proud of your root, skin colour and who you are. Racism doesn't have an antidote..the best weapon is to render it useless . Black players should stop being childish, show some resilience and toughness.
They got broken down easily.
This is my own opinion... no insult pls.

cc oga pidgib

You thinks it's easy to just accept being racially abused, there is nothing chilshish about walking away.
Everyone has a different tolerance level. The fact that you can accept some things and act like they don't exist doesn't mean I can do the same thing. Everyone cannot be Dani Alves.

I'm sure you've never been abused racially so you have no idea what it is to be in that man's shoes.

Imagine being called a monkey by the same people you gave your blood and sweat when you played for them some years back.

Imagine a stadium with over 15 thousand people calling you a monkey.

I didn't just watch the video I listened carefully, when he was walking out, there was a chant by the away fans calling him name..... thousands of people for that matter!!

Mind you the monkey chants started from the start of the match. He only walked away after he scored because he couldn't take it anymore. The perfect antidote....he scored the winning goal, showed them his skin colour before asking to be subbed off.

You are right too...u have a point. But I feel since no measures are available to curb racism, it is high time the players find some themselves. I know it ain't easy.

Injury Update: Kalu resumes training with Bordeaux squad

Girondins Bordeaux wing wizard, Samuel Kalu has resumed training with the main squad after recovering from a knee injury that kept him out for close to a month, AOIFootball.com can confirm.

The Super Eagles forward’s performance this season has been blighted by a recurrent knee injury that has only seen him score one goal in 19 appearances in all competitions for Bordeaux this season.

Speaking exclusively with AOIFootball.com from his base in France, the former KAA Gent star said he is fully back and wants to give his best for the remainder of the season.

“I’m happy to be back on the pitch training with my teammates. I’m eager to give my best in the remaining games and committed to the cause of the club,” Kalu stated.

Kalu’s return will definitely come as a boost for both club and country as Bordeaux aim to end the season in a respectable place on the log and also an inspiration for the Super Eagles as he is one of the players Coach Gernot Rohr relies on to do magic on the pitch when the three-time African champions regroup in March for two AFCON 2021 qualifiers against Sierra Leone.

Kalu will be available for selection this weekend for Bordeaux’s French Ligue 1 action against champions and high flyers, PSG at the Parc Des Princes.

pls..I might not put my words right.
But what I posted was just an idea I have bottled up. It is an opinion and some have opened my eyes (through their post) to another dimensions to racism. We learn everyday.
But if the players can't develop thick skin to racism, what now is the solution?

Nwakali continues personal training, edges closer to Huesca debut

Former U-17 World Cup winning skipper, Kelechi Nwakali has stepped up his training exercise with Spanish second division side SD Huesca as he hopes to be fully fit in time to make his debut with the LaLiga chasers, AOIFootball.com can authoritatively confirm.

Having missed the first part of the season due to visa delays and work permit, the attacking midfielder returned to training late last month and has been on a special routine as he continues to work his way to full match fitness.

AOIFootball.com understands that the former Arsenal youth product has been placed under a special training by the club who have made clear their intentions to see the Nigerian features for the club this term as they believe he could add bite to their attack in their bid to earn promotion.

Nwakali joined Huesca on a three-year contract in September last year after leaving Arsenal but could now make his debut in a fortnight, with the club just one point off automatic spot as they sit 4th with 14 games left in the season.

You don't know the full story yet you have already passed judgment. Na wa.
The lad could not travel before late January as his Visa was being processed and now his registration with the club proper is close to completion but you can see he has resumed training with his new side and they aren't even thinking of sending him on loan to the Third tier anymore bcoz he has been quite magnificent in training so far according to a few reports. That means the lad is doing something right in training and in trying to get back up to speed and fitness.

Seriously, understanding of the context of a current situation is key before you jump in and pass judgment on the lad just bcoz he has been rightly criticized from time to time here. Well, "things don change" and the lad is trying to get back up on his feet. What you can do now is wish him well and not tag him a lad with no ambitions bcoa ambition is clearly the reason why he is pushing himself hard at training with his new club, Huesca. Finito.

That is very true and the criticisms that have come his way are spot on. But again, he is in Spain now and is already making an impression on the Huesca coaches. Let's see how it goes. If this lad comes good in the end, it is to his benefit career-wise and also to the benefit of the Super Eagles in the long run as it would mean another quality midfielder back on the SE radar. But for now, he must work his way to that place of reckoning. He may yet rise and fulfill his potentials or maybe reach half of it. Time will tell.

I would rather they channel their energies to commending the fact that at least the lad is working his way back little by little at Huesca other than dishing out more criticisms and reminding us of his age coz we all know he is 21. Abi is it a crime for the lad to resume training again? Is this not what many were complaining about? Few months ago, this lad was lashed left, right and center for flexing in Nigeria and not being serious with his new journey in Spain without even knowing that the lad had Visa delays and work permit issues.

Okay, now that he is in Spain and doing what he needs to do, why then do people come in here and still talk him down? Is it not the time to encourage his current effort to bounce back rather than keep dwelling on the negatives of the past?

So yes... I was not going to let that fly over me without properly addressing it. Coz I have seen talents not just in football but in science who took time before they began to shine. We must learn when to criticize and when to encourage. It must not be criticism all the damn time! Finito.

Thankfully I never mentioned you hating on him anywhere in my reply. And your disappointment in the lad's progress is well noted but believe me when I say e no even reach the level of disappointment I had in the lad. Just that I am a very patient person when it comes to talents across any field, not just football. I don't give up on real talent that easily. I believe in second chances and even third chances... But I also know it is not everyday one get a second chance. Sometimes, we only get one shot.

In Kelechi's case... I believe he has another shot to have a go at making a success of his talents. Time will tell.
