Arabiandude:

I was wowed when I watched his video yesterday and what will surely give him an advantage in the SE if truly he has chosen to play for Nigeria is the fact that he is not just a DM, a position which we currently have only Ndidi, but he is also left footed, good in holding ball, good with passes and also tall and also good with interceptions. Imagine playing a more superior team at the world cup, na just to out billing and Ndidi as 2 DMs to break plays and pair them with a good AM and speedy & skillful wingers, and we are good to go

na pple wey no sabi ball go argue with u on your observation so far. Billing is a calm prototype of ndidi blessed with good left foot and height.

Its not about having skillful forwards and attackers but a midfield and defence than can soak and mob up pressure. Rohr is on the verge of assembling a team that will be the envy of so many footballing nations

oga having a bunch of talented players doesnt mk a team better. They re chances that this team may not even qualify for the next world cup so dont come running back reminding me of how i hyped the team wen they fail. Though that wont be rohr's portion ijn

There would be a news on Josh Onomah, if Fulham gets promoted. Another interesting prospect in the AM position.

His transfer fee was about €25 million plus and so wages will be high.

Unless he gets game time in a competitive league he is going to see his career nose dive.

He is an English bred frustrated in Germany, English clubs needing a winger will come buy him from Germany

But if he goes to Besisktas , it will take outstanding performances in the Champions league to bring him to attention again

Thank you
komekn:

Culture norms and values birth perceptions and mannerisms that people presume have universal acceptance and practice. When they simply do not.

Because this whole idea of "begging" is in all honesty crass degenerative ignorance.

It reminds me of this practice in our Nigerian universities where innovation, new ideas and concepts are supposed to be birthed. But are effectively murdered at inception.

When a student present a different notion or approach to a Professor or lecturer. He will be dismissed with " who are you, what do you know" continued persistence and you have caused yourself to fail. And students will justify it, " imagine he is questioning a Lecturer.

At the that time in comparison to other players who were far more deserving he should not have been invited, he had done nothing to justify that call up. That was my view then and has not changed.

How perversely absurd is it then that we forgot about him for 2+ years, when he started to perform outstandingly we still did not invite him.

It was when he was given the accolade as the best player in the Championship as well as invited to England U21 we remembered he existed.

As it should be

Yes but Turkey is a poor platform

Newcastle bid for him while he was sitting on a bench in Germany, I doubt he would get any attention in Turkey

I think the real reason why Ejaria never made the U-17 team back then was because of either his health or schooling, I can't remember.

That was the reason why he left camp. As regards making the U17 team, we know how that would likely have played out.

Nobody on the “beg” camp is shouting “no to Billing”. If he had decided to continue to look at Denmark, they will come wailing “we do not have dignity”.
We have seen another good result of making more approaches.

Billing to me is a good addition, because if we must have a bench, it has to be as solid as the starting team or at least very competitive one. That’s how you build a team that’s really serious about doing well at the WC. I don’t care about AFCON because we can still do very well at the WC even if we failed to win th African title. I wouldn’t like it the other way round.

Joseph Yobo: I’ll be 100% loyal to Gernot Rohr

Newly appointed Assistant coach and former Captain of the Super Eagles, Joseph Yobo, says he cannot wait to start in his new position.

Life for Joseph Yobo as Super Eagles assistant coach could lead to greater things for the former captain, who insisted he’ll be loyal and is ready to learn from Manager Gernot Rohr.

Yobo was appointed to the team as Rohr’s assistant and will replace former NPFL winner, Imama Amapakabo after just one year.
The former Eagles captain was yet to resume his duties along side Rohr in the technical area due to the COVID-19 pandemic, after the cancelation of Nigeria’s 2021 AFCON qualifiers against Sierra Leone.

In an interview, yesterday, Yobo explained his expectations when he resumes with the team.
“I’m a very loyal person, was as player and nothing has changed,” said the Eagles assistant coach.

“There is a lot to learn from the coach and I am ready to work and learn; for my development and importantly for the progress of our team.’
