TheGoodJoe: The matter tire pesin, some things your pikin go talk, you no go fit show face for village meeting again. Anyway, maybe his father is one of those that have dissociated themselves from Nigeria, so, there won't even be an avenue for shame to catch them. 1 Like |

safarigirl: Eze was always eligible to play for Nigeria but when he waited for two years plus without a word, then England U21 Called thats when he played for England. That is when the change of allegiance was required. With regard to Ekong his career was going nowhere, he was essentially in need of a boost and thats what the SE gave him he was never at any time in consideration for the Dutch National team, he got three caps at youth level for the Dutch youth teams thats all. This has nothing to do with league but player quality and ability, Eze is the best player in the Championship he supersedes assessment based on league, just like Dele Alli from league one to EPL to England international literally in one season. |

ARTETA TARGETS DENNIS AS REPLACEMENT FOR AUBAMEYANG Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will look to sign Nigeria forward Emmanuel Dennis as replacement for Pierre- Emerick Aubameyang this summer. Aubameyang’s contract expires in 2021 and the Gabon international has been heavily linked with a move away from north London, with Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United all monitoring the situation. The 30-year-old has scored 61 goals in 97 games since his arrival from German Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund in January 2018. According to the Daily Mail, the West London club has now identified Club Brugge striker Dennis as the ideal replacement for Aubameyang after being impressed with his displays for the newly crowned Belgian Pro League champions in the 2019/2020 season. Dennis rose to prominence this season after scoring a brace in the 2-2 draw with Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League at the Santiago Bernabeu and hiting the back of the net once in the Europa League home clash against Manchester United. Overall, he scored nine goals in 33 games across all competitions for Brugge last season. Arsenal however face competition from Sheffield United, Watford, Newcastle and Brighton for Dennis. The 22-year-old admitted he is open to leaving Brugge for a new adventure. “I like challenges. I’ve been here for three years. My focus right now is I have one more game this season – the Cup Final – which I want to win, that’s really important to me," Dennis told Sky Sports News. “After then, we’ll see what happens, you never know.” 1 Like |

Looking back on some earlier quotes of Billing, the politeness was there. I wonder what happened to him in the last interview. “I know my agents have said that Nigeria has approached them. There’s not much in it, that’s the most if I want to play for the Nigerian national team, so I think it could be possible. But that’s not something I’m thinking about.” “It wasn't until when we [Bournemouth] were going to play against Everton a couple of weeks ago when Alex Iwobi asked if I might be interested in coming and playing for Nigeria,” Billing told BT, as per Bournemouth Echo. "He said the coach had asked me. It was the first time I heard anything concrete myself. "It's a pat on the back that another country would like you to play for them. I just take that as a shrug and proof that you are doing well. “It would feel strange to have to play for Nigeria, even though my father is from there. “I am half Nigerian and I feel that way too but I was born and raised in Denmark. My mother is Danish and my sister is Danish, so it would feel strange to have to play for Nigeria.” So I wonder why the sudden change in attitude. People are even trying to make it look like it is normal. |

The only thing that sounded odd in what Billing said is “I am 100 percent Danish” but when u put on your thinking cap he also said he was half Nigerian. This seems conflicting and it’s most likely due to translation issues. The player was most likely expressing his 100 percent commitment to Denmark. That said, when you put Cyriel Dessers’ (who is now become our standard of patriotism) statements side by side with Billing, I don’t see much of a difference than one player showing 100% commitment to Nigeria and the other to Denmark. Somebody made a laughable comment here that Billing was counting his familiy’s Danish nationality like it was an achievement. When Dessers counted his own did it seem like he was counting his achievements? Hahaha 2 Likes |

Very good observation. One also has to look at the circumstances. Modified I Misunderstood you. But Billing was setting matters straight as there were rumors that were untrue, considering he already had talks with the current Denmark coach, and has been invited by Denmark in the past mank1234: |
