Nigeria’s leading online retailer, Jumia has initiated a conversation with five principal marketers in Nigeria on the prospects and advancement of affiliate marketing in Nigeria.

Fatoumata Ba, Managing Director, Jumia Nigeria, is optimistic that this partnership will boost product knowledge while providing endless means for affiliates to earn more money.

“Our vision for the affiliate programme has been to create a seamless avenue for all bloggers or website owners to earn substantial income conveniently from our collaboration while increasing our brand awareness to their visitors and followers”, said Fatoumata Ba.

A marketing tool used to reward members for every customer they usher into the partner’s website; affiliate marketing involves promoting products on platforms and tracking sales to earn a certain percentage as commission on every successful order made within a specified number of days after a click on affiliate link.

This is specifically for those who own a website, blog or just any useful social media account like facebook, twitter or Goggle+, to make money online effortlessly by advertising products that appeal to their target audience on their affiliate account using banners from the partner’s advertising media.

The online giant expressed confidence over the relationship it says has recorded huge success for both parties.

“It is a collaboration we are most proud of and will work towards further strengthening. Indeed, it now accounts for a very high share of Jumia’s total traffic on its website,” Jumia Boss added.

There are ongoing deliberations to increase Jumia’s brand identity and visibility on its affiliate partners’ websites as well as how partners have benefitted from Jumia’s Partnership.

Jumia, Nigeria’s largest online retail store had earlier predicted boom sales in 2016 amidst declining consumer spend occasioned by the harsh economic challenge in the country.

“We have already started the year 2016 with a big boom with the biggest Fashion Sale of the Year and have many more surprises coming your way!” Fatoumata Ba, said in January.
