Seun, you have to be j/king mate? You've never heard of the double decker A380? See this picture of it parked next to other planes, and you'll see what I mean... |
Re: Airbus A380 by Seun(m): 11:23am On Nov 14, 2005 |
Ok, so it's a big plane. Can I buy one? Is it going to be flying to Nigeria anytime soon? |
Re: Airbus A380 by Hunter(m): 1:07pm On Nov 14, 2005 |
Yes you could buy one... 300 million USD. small change really. Yes I do think you will see them in nigeria in the next probably 5 years, nigeria is very profitable for air traffic (they don't discount fairs at all) |
Re: Airbus A380 by ijebuman(m): 10:54pm On Nov 14, 2005 |
Hunter: I doubt it unless the government is prepared to extend and upgrade our pot holled filled runways. the A380 requires a much longer and smoother runway which we don't have at the moment |
Re: Airbus A380 by Hunter(m): 7:13am On Nov 15, 2005 |
A little bit longer and a little bit wider, there going to have to rip it all up and do it all again soon anyway Though it's a bit disheatening seeing all the trashed aeroplanes by the airport perhaps they should move them out of site (or sell off the scrap metal) Anyway's take off video's have been posted as well. |

Do you know why you're so excited about it? Because the aircraft landed in your country! Thanks for sharing this with us. Can you post us screenshots from the videos, since we are all on narrowband Internet? |

Nigeria isn't left out of cool stuff being test there, for instance my dad saw them testing the new BMW's there a few months ago (extreme humidity testing ) This page can tell you more about the airbus A380 http://www.airliners.net/info/stats.main?id=29 and some pictures http://www.airliners.net/open.file/959846/L/ http://www.airliners.net/open.file/959076/L/ http://www.airliners.net/open.file/959577/L/ |

Thanks Hunter. Can anybody guess why this new Boeing was named A380 and not A360 or 370? I mean why the 8!! |
Re: Airbus A380 by nferyn(m): 7:14pm On Nov 18, 2005 |
Alexia: It's not a Boeing, but an Airbus. European, not American No clue why the 380 |
Re: Airbus A380 by Hunter(m): 7:59am On Nov 19, 2005 |
Maybe they've reserved it for other cool planes They launched the A350 the other day (as an eventual replacement of the A330) |
Re: Airbus A380 by Alexia(f): 3:14pm On Nov 19, 2005 |
Take a close look at the number 8. Doesn't it look like it has a compartment up and another one down?! The Airbus exactly. |

candylips: Yeah, yeah, yeah.!!! What Boeing have up their sleeves is going to beat the A380. Boeing will be lunching it's new Plane in less than a couple of years. The AIR WAR still goes on between the British and the Americans. |
Re: Airbus A380 by LoverBwoy(m): 10:26pm On Dec 02, 2006 |
The AIR WAR still goes on between the British and the Americans. dont you mean europe and america? Airbus are concentrating on long haul flight with more passengers and boeing think short haul flights will be the order of the day Airbus are gearing up for a medium carrier now A350 or something like that; direct competition to the upcoming boeing big planes |
Re: Airbus A380 by culasi(m): 10:24pm On Dec 14, 2006 |
This is pretty good. Dreamliners are its competitor. My company would the first to launch it in North America in 2008. (Northwest Airlines). See what the nigerian govt is missing. I actually don't think this plane can land in abuja or lagos airport. |
Re: Airbus A380 by candylips(m): 7:19pm On Jan 01, 2007 |
