My own question is a bit derailing but its kinda connected grin

A manager in my office asked why I decided to birth in the US and deny my Parents (well not mine cos we don't do it) and my inlaws the joys of Day 8 naming ceremony undecided In his opinion (not that it matters to me), 'better healthcare' is an excuse and I shouldn't use that to deny the grandparents their joy.

So my question is to the Yoruba 's amongst us that don't get to travel with their mothers...How do you handle the 'naming ceremony ' issue?

To answer your question, i did the 8days with my mum , sisters and aunts over there as just a parlor naming coz we already did a big babyshower but came back and did the 40days just exactly like the 8days naming. All in all, everyone was satisfied at the end.

Pls help a sister out, my budget is like $500 per month.

Again id say airbnb would be your best bet for that price. Did a search and found pix attached.... but you can still ask for discount and probably get it at 500 or less.

Mmmm stay away from those travel agencies, if you will eer need to modify your ticket in any way at all. Ive had terrible exp with wakanow n travelstart

Exactly my thought.
Y buy from travel start while you can but it cheaper from the airline directly and pay in naira if you wish. ?
I will advice you to reserve one and put it on hold at the airline website because nobody knows what naira will be tomoro and the prices may go up. Just reserved mind and paying 1st thing tomoro morning.
Good luck
I bought travelstart flexible ticket and I had no regrets... Adding infant ticket wasn't an issue... They were more than helpful when lufthansa didn't fly me...

Thanks for your quick response, did u use ur naira master card to pay. As I can see where they wrote visa dollar credit card as a side note. Pls clarify.
if u pay directly there's a charge... However if u transfer, there's no extra charge... I think when u r transferring u include d code or something... Call their customer care to reconfirm

Try flying Lufthansa, then you will know what strict really is. Flew them a second time and they told me that my hand luggage was too big for their 'danfo-bus-type-waste-basket' specification. They refused to check me in! 30mins to departure, I found a cleaner with transparent bin bag after running around the airport looking for an alternative. I emptied the suitcase (with all my underwear)into the transparent bin-bag (imagine the stares I got from pple around!) and squeezed it into their 'basket scale for hand luggage' before they checked me in. I had barely left the check-in desk when I heard my name being announced to hurry up to the gate cos the gate was about to close! My dear, I carried my bin-bag on my head like those 'agege bread hawkers' and started running to the gate o!
Thank goodness I made it! Infact, I was the last to board the plane. Supervisor at the boarding gate had to beg security to just let me get on because she saw that they wanted to start harassing me about my bin bag not meeting the specs again!

For the return leg, I wanted to change the date but Lufthansa said it was non-flexible and even non-refundable! I had to fly Emirates which was absolutely superb to and fro! I travelled on the double-decker plane from DXB to my destination and back to DXB!
NEVER PATRONISING LUFTHANSA AGAIN! NEVER AND I WOULD NOT ENCOURAGE MY ENEMY TO EVEN PATRONISE THEM!

I asked for extra food on the Frankfurt to LOS leg to make up for the early am trouble. Apart from the extra food, another good thing is the short travelling time.

kikikikikikikikiki
A sight to behold
Kikikikikikikikiki
Kikikikikikikikiki

Thank God u boarded o

I pretty doubt if you will see an concierge for $500/month. You can look at Soul care but not at that budget. You might need to check airbnb, but you might have to gamble with the hosts...since you have not been there before.

No u dnt need to tak the child to the embassy.
All you need to do is register the child via their website.
Step.state.gov

What is STEP?
The Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) is a free service that allows U.S. citizens traveling or living abroad to enroll with the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate.

And No... Embassy not open on saturdays.
aside news and emergency bla bla... Any reason to register?

I had my baby at Oakbend on Friday and it was amazing! Dr Dama and his team were on their A* game. The nurses afterwards were fantastic. They showed so much empathy and care and I was discharged yesterday.

Dr F still took a delivery on Friday at Oakbend and has one today that I am aware of.

This is my first baby so I don't have any previous experience to compare it with but I don't regret any part of my baby's birth story/plan.

Ok thank you.

I think so. That's what my account officer told me. Northerners would soon be put out of market. You can now access ur Forex from ur banks. This also mean foreign investors would return including the airlines that pulled the plug as the Forex demand normalizes.

Most likely. Atleast that's what I heard. I am not a banker but bankers told me it's very possible now. I don't know about form A medical. I asked from access and they told me they haven't gotten any memo yet on the ban on form A. For all I care it could be a rumour. Only issue might likely be that the form A would be processed based on the current Forex for whatever day one is processing it.
