Hello all I have been a silent reader, thanks to everyone that has contributed to this great forum,i learnt a lot here. In the spiriit of giving back:flew qatar @ 35weeks with my DH on wenesday, was sent to port health for fit to fly, told the nurses I was 34wks but they refused to give me,said they don't give 34wks that it's 30wks they give that is govt policy after much they told DH he should write an undertaking in case of any eventuality which he did before they finally gave us but wrote 33wks. Got PTA from stanbic @350 and travelex @356. It was God all d way. Got to doha n was sent to meet a US rep:he asked wat we were going to d US for ,told him for childbirth/vacation,asked if we metioned dat during our interview we said no,but we later notified d embassy for change of plans,he asked to see it wich we showed him,he asked for doctors correspondence we gave him(am using Dr Dama/methodist Sugarland )he asked y going to d US to have d baby n y not in naija,we said for better health care cos mother /child mortality rate is high that's why we choose d US,he said they are going to review oakbend medical group cos most people tend to use them, after which he gave us our passport, waited for 2hrs before we left for New York,d flight was a long one we were 2pregie on d flight the other woman develop some complication and doctor/nurse we needed to attend to her,dnt knw wat happen wen we got to New York. We used the self automated machine, our slip was marked x,it was a long queue before it got to our turn,a female CBP officer attended to us,asked how long we are saying DH told here he would be staying for 10days while I would stay for 8wks,she asked y I would be staying that long, told her we are here for vacation and childbirth, she asked me to scan my finger n snap me,hubby did d same n our passport was stamped, checked the stamp and it was just B2 that was on the stamp, went back to meet her but she told us that it covers for the six month, that there is no problem.we were sent to agric cos I carried fish and some spices, our bags was rescaned nothing was seize, collected our luggage and went to chat up our flight with jetblue to houston.it was God all d way chilling at d hotel but would be using precious cedar,my appointment is next week. God bless and favour to all those coming behind 22 Likes 1 Share |

davsquared:Thanks so much davsquared. Amen! I did not pay for epidural in the first place. Epidural was not included in the hospital bill. The way it works is that you pay the anaesthetics department after you have made use of epidural |

Yes you get accommodation there is a particular class you have to buy to qualify for it. Am flying with Qatar and both my journeys am having lodging sorted. I have a 8 and a half hour layover while going and if it's anything like my December trip they would lodge you at the Hamad international hotel right inside the airport. My boarding gate was just 5mins from d hotel. So of course am expecting same again. So it's definately true it's called the STPC option. |

Yes there's Shop rite in America. I know NJ has quite a few shoprite stores. I don't know what state funtolash is in though. |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 4 by isaleko: 12:29am On Sep 03, 2016 |
Abuleoshi: Yes I think it's starts with class N but then you can Google it up though. Then your agent should have booked your hotel and meal vouchers as you bought your tickets. I got mine with my ticket. So call Qatar or your agents. Oh also toqualify toqualify waiting times have to b 8hours and more. |

Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 4 by Nnystc: 1:42am On Sep 03, 2016 |
IJ, You don't fix that black base to the stroller oh. You use that only in the car. At check in, they collect the big black base from you at ticketing counter and tag it and send it along with your boxes. You dont need it till you get to Naija. Then you click only the car seat into the stroller and push that through the airport for convenience. You drop stroller and car seat at plane door. Anyway, on a normal day, i just shove the base into the strollers bottom basket if I'm going out with baby (for use in Uber, etc) Hope this helps. ijeomaobi1: 2 Likes |

Nnystc, You be correct babe. Dat helps absolutely. Thanks but if I check it in, will I pay for it as I already completed my 5 bags slot. Bikoa answer as I Don broke badly and can't afford any expenses |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 4 by mumzt: 4:36am On Sep 03, 2016 |
ijeomaobi1: The base of d car seat is to stay permanently in d car. U dnt attach dat to ur stroller. But don't stress, ur stroller will b carried for free even if it's still in d carton as long as ure travelling wiv a child. Talking from experience. Three diff airlines. It will b chkd in at the counter. U can even give them the carseat at check in and use d stroller to d aircraft door. It's very allowed. So dnt stress abt attaching and all. |

long post alert I got into Houston this week. My initial plan was to enter in September, I had already bought ticket sef but we discovered that my child had a tumor... See eh, when something strong happens, you just have to drop everything in God's able hands and start working in harmony with your faith. So I changed my tickets, DH got emergency tickets, we gathered ourselves to Houston. We flew Emirates. I asked for wheelchair assistance and trust me, that made A HUGE difference especially since my son decided to remain hyperactive and fear did not let me sedate him because of the tumor. Flight was ok but I was tired, my feet was swollen, even with compression socks o. Anyway thats how we landed in Houston. Me, DH and my son (He's a citizen) were rolled to the POE CBP: Good afternoon Can I have your passports and landing card DH: Good afternoon (hands them over) CBP: What are you here for? DH: My son has a mass on his neck and needs to see a doctor I quickly remind him about me DH: And my wife is hereto deliver our baby. CBP: Ok,put your fingers here... we do CBP: looks at our landing card. Do you have snails? DH: yes we do CBP: Ok you didnt tick here (shows DH where to tick, he does) CBP: You'll have to pass through agriculture on your way out, youre free to go. I was still waiting for secondary inspection when they wheeled me to baggage collection, I kuku released the lady and helped DH carryour bags to agriculture. They passed our bags thru the x-ray machine and told us to go, nothing was searched or seized. Now were seeing different specialists for my son and Im waiting for my scheduled appointment. 12 Likes |

mumzt: I guess the question is what if you are not travelling with a baby but you are coming back with one. For example, in my case, I have a Graco click n connect that I bought when I had my baby last year. I also intend to use it for my next baby so I want to travel with it. I will be travelling alone, hubby might come later with the 2 kids if he is chanced. Will the airline allow a preggie check in her travel set for free (knowing well say the baby dey belle). Anyone with this experience and please I'm flying Lufthansa. |

Hello all, for those using Dr M in LA does he give doctor's correspondence. If he does, how do I go about it. Should I send him a mail. I already have his clinic's email and phone number. Also does he charge a fee for the correspondence. Please anyone that has used him, I will appreciate your answers. Thanks. |

Good day great Mamas and Papas in the house. Please I need to know if there is a travelex office at the international wing of Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, Abuja. If there is, has anyone used it and what was their experience, how much was the dollar on the day etc. The struggle is real... |

Will the airline allow a preggie check in her travel set for free (knowing well say the baby dey belle). No they wont even check in car seat for free once there isn't an actual baby. Flew Emirates and had to pay extra luggage to carry it. Would have left it behind if I didn't have other stuffs to make up the baggage allowance. But Lufthansa may be different |

DW was wheeled to the automated selfservice machine and we got the printout marked x.. then headed to the cbp. POE Transcript below : Cbp: good morning and can I have your passport please ME: good.morning and gave her passports with the print out from the automated machine Cbp: why are you here today Me : my wife is here to have our baby Cbp: oh nice. Hi Kaylaychi. The correspondence for dr M is free. Since you already have the email addy, just mail and send her( the office) your details, name, your Edd and when you would want to begin your care with them. She would send you the financial details, medical records required and an appointment letter subsequently. @Lajoie, praying lots of divine healing on your son. He is well and whole in Jesus' name. 1 Like 1 Share |
