On the 3rd day of April, 2016 my neighbor invited me to her church (name withheld) for her child dedication which I oblige. I enjoyed the sermon and admired the pastor's charismatic communication skills. However, the pastor raised alot of eyebrows during the closing prayer which went thus: 'anybody that don't want you to progress, Holy fire! Fire him nyash'; I paid little or no attention to it until he repeated the same phrase again. Lo & behold when I opened my eyess out of curiosity, I noticed that most of the congregation have been gazing at the pastor before I even opened my eyes. He still repeated that phrase for the third time and this time no one respond to the prayer with an amen! So I'm asking, is it right to use that word 'nyash' in prayer? Especially in a public place? |
