Different parent with their child /children having fun. Here I am behind a tree with my loving husband alao, we are now married for ten years now without a cry of baby for even a seconds in our house, Although we hoped and waited on the gods day and NYT for a child but all were to no avail. I cried to alao each time I see mothers with children. I became a barren woman of shame .. Alao always persuade me telling me not to worry about child his love shud be enough for me. But that can't satisfy me I wanted to be like my friends who had children. When we walk to market my friends do make mock of me "expensive but worthless" One morning at the stream I cried and cried even about to commit suicide wen I finally met my "helper" an old woman who was astonished by my action to kill myself she asked me why!! I gazed up into d sky and said mama dis is the 10th year of me waiting on the gods to answer me am fed up and ready to die. Now she sat me down and told me dat am actually destined not to ve a child I looked at ha like she is crazy. She looked at me and smiled and she said I know ur tots I was scared to the toes, fear griped my heart then she continued their is a way out. I was soo anxious to know wat it was becos I needed my child at all means then she took me down the stream where I saw a new magical world it was like a dream to me I Neva believed a world under d stream I saw creatures like me, I saw people buying and selling they were all busy villagers but wat amazed me most was the absence of men I began to wonder with furious act to see a single man but I couldn't den I saw...................to be continued Next chapter on STRANGE LOVE(2) I saw a golden palace it was so big but has no entrance. But while I was still wondering the old woman called me by my name A.sa.ke in a slowly manner , I was surprised she knew my name I turned around to see ha but wat I saw wasn't an old woman anymore but a beautiful man maid in human form. she had a long coil hair wyt a silver crown I nearly fainted wen I saw dis den she came closer to me and said this is my kingdom I am d queen of the seven rivers and the ruler of great oceans... I was still wondering if it was real or dream I hardly can't ans dat question. she said my child come follow me and I will show u hidden secrets of ur life. Now we got to a room all walls and floors was made in mirrors I could see the reflection of myself virtually every where. In grieve I looked at ha wyt a shaking lips den she said do u love ur husband alaoo I said yes... She nod ha head faintly and said it will be difficult to hv a child she said for me to hv my child I will need too sacrifice d life of my husband......"my heart stop beating" she continued d reason because am not destined to hv a child because of a cause on d family which can only be broken by d sacrifice of a man. I was scared den she asked me are u ready I found it unbearable I couldn't lose the life of my love for a child, I love alao so much and I needed d child.. the old woman(queen) shouted at me she said are u ready I was scared and started crying and I shouted noooooo!!!! Till I opened my eyes to d real world it was jst a dream... Alaoo was by my side he asked wat happened why are u sweating like this, y is ur heart bit as fast as someone who is being pursued by a masquerade.....i was scared I cudnt tell wat I saw to him I don't know how to, where to start even I nearly could remember all dat happened in d dream...... I put dat off , get necessary things den to the market different scene of wat i saw kept on reoccurring I was soo scared it can never be I kept on thinking I love alao so much I wud die wytout his presence I kept it up to myself and let d mysterious dream die within me.......... NW two years later my greatest threat came although I and my husband had been living peacefully all this while apart from simple quarrel between us. It was the first day of the fifth month wen we received a big visitor alao's mother she came to our house surprisingly, she looks friendly but worried I tried my best to entertain and make ha happy, she was pleased then she looked around the house and compound and said there is still no child in this big house.....i knew it before I went inside immediately cos I was afraid of embarrassment den she called alao and said I think your wife had lost ha womb after after so many abortion before she married u, I listened through the window tears dripped of my face I was so speechless although I never had abortion but I wasn't a virgin wen I married alao I already had an affair wyt my ex.b before I met alao but under "protection". So I found myself speechless for that. His mother continued "u hv a big house big farm and everything but who will inherit all no one, he put his head to d ground and nod is head then his mother said to his ear I couldn't hear dat which was said but the reaction of alao shows der is something not ryt he never gave a word again but his mother kept saying yes! DAT wat I wanted, do it for me but I cudn't understand.....she came in, carried ha bag as if she said nothing and greeted me as usual "odaboo ayamii arewa" I also replied as if nothing appended" iyee! ESE odaboo" I quickly went to alao but for the first time he neglected me and went off inside. He refused to talk to me nor even eat my food I couldn't comprehend wat his mother had told him........................to be continued |
