The rain disrupted my Granny's burial in Delta too, fell like mad. It was wiping my body like a cane. It also fell the tents that were mounted, no be small thing o... It is very good to be a mother of plenty, my respect for my granny increased yesterday as I saw her grandchildren come out from different angle to ensure that her coffin was not drenched by the rain, we protected it like our lives depended on it and when the men were carrying it to shelter, it looked like a President's convoy cause our tradition requires the grandchildren to be on white lace. E pain me say I no snap am cause it was really majestic, but the rain was too heavy and my pako phone would have definitely said its last prayer if I had dared to bring it out under the rain. Some superstitious people were saying she scattered everywhere cause she wanted to be buried inside the new house that was built. Silly people! My grandpa ordered his parlour to be broken so that she will be buried there and he will be buried beside her when his time comes. What woman will choose to be buried in a new building over a place where she and her husband built their lives together? She was a really peaceful woman who loved her children and grandchildren to a fault and the rain annoyed me at first cause it was too violent for a woman as peaceful as my Granny but when I saw the way her grandchildren carried her instead of the undertakers, I was happy cause I knew that she will be happy wherever she is. We spent last night burning candles at her graveside and I couldn't help but envy mama for the attention she received, there is no doubt that she is one of the greatest woman to ever live. Adieu Mama Gold! Rest in peace mama!

Lesson from my story:
Have a lot of children cause mama Gold had 12 children, it will make your burial colorful grin

-Eyewitness dub the late Alamieyeseigha as the rain man

– Ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, amongst many other dignitaries, gets soaked after an unexpected rain took centre stage at the funeral ceremony of late Alamieyeseigha

The late Diepreye Alamieyeseigha has been buried in his hometown Amassoma, Southern Ijaw local government area in Bayelsa state, amid heavy rainfall.
NAIJ.com can report that the deceased was buried after a commendation service by the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) on Saturday, April 9.

However, the funeral ceremony which was graced by top dignitaries which included ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, his wife amongst others, was disrupted as a result of an unanticipated heavy down pour.

The funeral ceremony had to be quickly rushed so as the corpse of the late ex-governor could betransferred to the venue for his interment.

Just like eyewitnesses and pressmen, dignitaries had a fair share of the downpour as they always drenched in the rain.

Eye witnesses who assembled at Amassoma to pay their tribute to the late Alamieyeseigha had to run helter-skelter to seek refuge from the rains, which was unrelenting.

Speaking after the funeral ceremony, one of the eye witnesses at the ceremony told NAIJ.com on the condition of anonymity: “The rain didn’t help matters, but I have always known Alamieyeseigha to be the rain man.

“I can remember when he was presented to us as our first civilian governor in 1999; he was addressing the people and prayed that peace be restored back to our lands. That was the period when there was crisis in Bayelsa. When Late Alamieyeseigha raised a matchet, signifying the end of the crisis, a heavy rain all of sudden began. It was surprising to see but he has always been the rain man and we will miss him.”

Sub Sahara refers to all the parts of Africa below the Sahara desert. While Sudan is part of the Sahara, South Sudan isn't.

Even here in Enugu it poured hard with strong winds too, even disrupted a wedding there is nothing mysterious about shiit just nature showing it's talent.

Or you think nature cares whether you have a wedding ceremony or burial of a politician before happening?

That rain touched almost everywhere because it did same at a funeral ceremony I attended at outskirt Ibadan, before I know anything, the carry all the canopies for the event. So it's general. I don't think it should be attached to a particular person.
