Stuff like this is bound to happen because VIO and FRSC officers have no slightest clue about their responsibilities. You see trucks that are not roadworthy, no lights and worse driving against traffic; all these officers do is collect N200 and look the other way. Deriliction of duties trickles down from up to down that blaming any one person is a waste of effort. Nigeria will get serious when Nigerians want.

11 people (9 males, 2 females) died and 6 others (4 males, 2 females) in a road crash that occurred after Owena bridge, about 18km from Ore on the Benin-Ore road.

The accident that occured in the early hours of today, April 10 involved a truck and a Toyota Hiace bus.

According to FRSC, "the crash was an head on collision resulted as a result of driving against traffic on the dual carriageway by the driver of the truck. Two vehicles, a blue Daf truck crane with registration number BEN 371 XY and a white Toyota Hiace bus with registration number FKJ 62XH were involved . The injured and the corpses were taken to the General Hospital, Ore. Personal effects such as clothes, bags, phones and a sum of N32,490:00 were recovered at the scene"

Truck driving against traffic!!!

And somebody did a copy and paste article yesterday about truck drivers always being right whenever they are involved in an accident with smaller vehicles.

That OP never bodered about editing that foreign article to reflect the Nigerian context.

Nigerian truck drivers don't even know the first rule about driving a truck, and that's not even mentioning the fact they are always half-sedated in alcohol or drugs almost all the time.

But that road from sagamu interchange to ore is a dead trap,d road are so bad that is why drivers drive against traffic to avoid those big big port hole.Still pass d road last week.
My wife had an accident on that same road about 2 years ago that almost incapacitated her but for God.
We need a state of emergency on our road in nigeria.

Nigerian truck drivers are the worse and most dangerous on the road. Most of them are incompetent to drive trucks!

How a so-called country could issue driver's license to its citizens without conducting any driving test, is beyond me!

These trailers are causing different kind of accidents up and down. Why can't federal govt introduce cargo train to carry goods for people instead of these trailers. Rip to the dead.

May they rest in peace. I travelled via same road to Lagos today and I noticed most vehicles were driving against traffic except for God is good motors and some private individuals. Indiscipline nd impatience is a major problem of nigerians
