Contrary to earlier reports that the headquarters of the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF , has been sealed off (taken over) and manned by armed military officers, eye
witness report has shown that this is untrue.

A visit by the crew of Channels TV to the headquarters of Nigeria's football governing body on Monday revealed that the staffs of the organization, throughout the day, went about their normal daily routine with no form of harassment from law enforcement agents as alleged by some sections of the media.

Although men of the Nigerian Police Force could be seen within the premises, however, this is believed to be so so as to prevent any breakdown of law and order. It would be recalled that last week, a Federal High Court in Jos, Plateau State of Nigeria nullified the election that brought Amaju Pinnick, the NFF president, and his board into office while favoring the Giwa-led group who had gone to court to challenge the Pinnick-led group.

The Giwa-led group had gone to court to challenge the election of Mr Pinnick but later withdrew its case in October 2014. After this, they went to the Court of Arbitration for Sports where their case was thrown out.

In the meantime, the federation has also filed an appeal, a motion to vacate the order and a notice for a stay-of-execution against the judgement of the High Court in Jos.
