Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau, today blamed the increasing rate in herdsmen and farmers clash in Nigeria, on conflicting reports on social media. Dambazzau said this while speaking during an inaugural meeting for stakeholders on the conflict in Abuja today April 14.

“The rise of the social media has given scope to the non-traditional media outlets which has seen interest groups frame stories surrounding the conflict in ways that tend to undermine the cooperate existence of Nigeria” he said.

He added that the crisis poses a threat to the unity of Nigeria and so must be addressed urgently.

Food for thought...
A sick person in a hospital bed was visited by relatives. The patient was on an oxygen MACHINE and therefore couldn't speak.
As they stood beside the bed, the patient took a pen and piece of paper and wrote a note which he gave to one of the relatives who put it in the shirt pocket and continued their conversation.
After a few minutes, the patient died. The relative picked the note from the pocket to know what he had written. And guess what! Sadly the note read..
."please move, you have stepped on the oxygen pipe, i can't breathe, you are killing me".
Lesson:
Do you postpone or assume reading posts, ? Or do you ignore picking calls because you are already close to the caller. They might be helpful to you or to somebody... particularly at a most critical time.

Dan banza is not denying that Fulani herdsmen are on rampage, he is only blaming social media for reporting it. Typical.

What nonsense is he saying? Fulanis are killing innocent people you are blaming social media! Or is it because your boss is a fulani and you think criticising the fulanis is equal to criticising ur boss.

Thank God for social media if not it would have been a silent rampage but now the farmers are on

the alert and so is every other Nigerian citizen.

Is it not strange how they take oil from the south, pollute farm lands, sell the oil, import petrol

and then allocate the money to every state in the country and anytime there is even scarcity it sells most

expensive in the south and now they want to also take lands from the south for free to feed their

cattles and only leaving destruction in their trail.but no one goes to the north to take free land

to open business or build houses, its all paid for in full, their crops and cattles are not sold and the

money shared to every nigerian but we still pay in full.

Please i ask, where is the fairness in all this? Are our Leaders insane? Or do a certain people think

the rest are fools?

Chei...... abokii na always abokii. Fulanis are killing farmers and their host community, instead of blaming them this foolish quarter system minister is blaming social media. Ustrish, continue to hide your head in the sand while the gigatum problem caused by fulani marauders is about to tear the fragile country to shred.

When will this govt stop the blame game and be responsible

So it's the rise of the social media that's threatening corporate existence of Nigeria and not Fulani herdsmen's brutality and killings across the country

This man must be sick upstairs.

People told others, Fulanis are born to rule.

What they did not remember to say, however, is that Fulanis are also born to kill.

It's a pity but I think I see the reason we have a herdsman at the top; Zoo country! Is the social media hyping the grazing bill also or did they propose the bill in the first place.

Do these men think before issuing press statements or just talk to keep their office active?

NB: Before you quote me on the ZOO thing just remember we had a zoologist as past. .......

The herdsmen are not known to visit social media sites. The farmers are not known to use the Internet as well, how is the social media escalating the war between the two?

So with all the recent killings and atrocities of Fulani herdsmen buhari's children, this is what somebody's father has to say? Attack the medias for reporting and not the assassins?

Now I know why some people are calling my country a zoo.

Weldon, can't even blame this man, if Oshomole, a southerner could blame his own people for atrocities committed by d fulanis cos he want d d favour of his Fulani master, how much more this minister. they should not complain about d social media yet, wait till 2019.
BTW, guess this is one of d points dey want to use to support d social media bill right? cont, God will see us.

What an irresponsible government.

Can you imagine that after loosing over 3000 Nigerians to the fulani herdsmen (mobile bokoharam), Buhari's govt first official response is to blame social media without any condemnation towards the herdsmen.

Buhari is just sooooo evil.
