Its actually 40million not 70million, take note.

The 40 million is based on an estimate that is

1.20 years old.

2.Does not take into account fuel consumption by generators....it assumes only cars use PMS in Nigeria.

3.Even if correct....that means we still have to import 23million liters daily...because our refineries can only produce 17-20 million liters of PMS daily.

P.S...I got the 70 million figure from an expert interviewed on Vision FM 95.1 in the FCT last week Friday. NNPC was saying 41 million liters by 2012...and that was based on the assumption that cars only use PMS in Nigeria.

PPS: From the Dec 2012 article i linked above...

A breakdown indicate that while 1565 trucks or 51 million litres were made available for loading on Tuesday, the figures for Wednesday stood at over 1433 trucks the equivalent of over 47 million litres. Thursday’s number was put at over 1210 trucks (over 39 million litres) while Friday and Saturday loading schedules have 1240 trucks each which translates to over 40 million litres per day.

Its all a huge big fat LIE. Habaaaaa at this stage let us be telling the masses the truth. I believe its between 200,000 - 450,000(Maybe o). Even the largest refinary in the world no reach 2mbpd. And pls hope the refinery will even last up till one month because with past records and history hmmmmmmm...... I reserve my comment

"The majority of world's 10 largest refineries are situated in the Asia Pacific region, with India hosting the world's largest refinery complex, followed by Venezuela and South Korea. Hydrocarbons-technology.com lists the top 10 large oil refineries globally, based on processing capacity.

Jamnagar refinery is the world's largest oil refinery

Reliance Jamnagar Refinery, India

Jamnagar refinery is the world's largest oil refinery with an aggregate capacity of 1.24 million barrels per day (bpd). The refinery complex is located at Jamnagar in Gujarat, India. It is owned and operated by Reliance Industries.

The refinery complex is spread across 7,500 acres and has more than 50 process units which refine the basic feedstock, crude oil to obtain various finished products.

The world's largest refinery took three years to complete and involved about $6bn of investment.

The refinery consists of hydrodesulphurisation, catalytic reforming, fluid catalytic cracking and delayed coking units. It also includes sulphur recovery, hydrogen generation, merox treating and TAME (Tertiary Amyl Methyl Ether) units"

No arguement, even if it is 100million. Note however that the official position is 40million litres per day. That is gospel truth to Kachikwu, Deizani and Okonjo-Iweala. That is the template used to prepare budgets and to pay subsidies.

Before a barrel of oil was selling for $100, and fuel was 87 naira. Now they say the oil is almost useless, so why are we still buying fuel at a higher price now
Because the fuel you consume is imported from outside the country as our refineries are not working optimally and the little its capable of producing; pipeline vandalism won't make them achieve that thereby making us import dependent . Exchange rate differential, import duties, shipping costs, cost of tranportation from the ports to (remote) parts of the country etc.

you are a perfectual habitual clueless fellow. Britian doesn't produce a drop of crude oil, unless of course they bagan production yesterday.

SS is 100 times more sustainable, developed and richer than your imaginary Biafra.
