This has been the position of the people of Nigeria, in the GEJ time we called for his head now in the PMB era they are doing same.NASS are evil, the head might have good intentions but would they let him work? no PADDING the budget to no realistic value.

NASS did not do anything wrong by expunging and cutting cost of some capital projects. That is their job.

You're very wrong. Did the Ministers not defend their numbers? Where's NASS getting it's own variance with so much difference? Why not indict the Executive if you think their numbers are too high? What's the meaning of slashing unnecessarily? Did NASS get independent quotes from the same contractors? In the final analysis, it's the Executive that's accountable to the people for the success or failure of the projects not the NASS. The Executive implements but must justify its numbers to the Legislators. The Legislators can't just hand the Executive any magic number to go and work with.

budget is not a sacred document, it is all about planning and before it is approved, it can be adjusted over 100 times, we all do budgets is our offices, let's stop misinforming people please, there is no back door thing, its all part of the budget process. Amaechi does not need to go and prostrate before all the senators to get anything adjusted, that is why there is budget defence and a committee to look at things and make corrections where necessary.

Are you sure you truly work in a corporate organization cos if you so, you won't make the first comment!

When you present a budget to the BoDs and omit a certain project, then they gone to the shareholders at AGMs to assent to it, you don't go to the shareholders to ask them to imput your error. You go back to the board and admit your mistake and request you make amendments or submit a supplementary. It's a very sensitive document on plans and Appropiation the everyone will abide by.

Is that not the reason for the arm agate probe because in simple terms, it's pure misappropriation and the senate has to be careful on how it receives amendments into the budget. Most especially from an executive than can even deny Jesus even he appeared in human form again, at any slight hitch, just to save their face from their gross incompetence.

There are constitutional process to budget process and adding projects at committee hearings isn't one of them.

Stop encouraging their inability to respect the rule of law.

Only the Executive Arm can input/remove Projects. Only Executive Arm can input Cost of such Projects
Only the NASs/Legislative can appropriate Money (Exactly what was costed by the Executive) or Reprobate Money (remove completely) for the project, as stated by the Executive.

There is no in-between.
Supplementary comes in ONLY after the Budget has been signed into law.

.... but this President has said if it is wrong, l wont sign it into law!

While I understand where you coming from, pls note that the NASS never removed or imputed. Any imputation was during drafting by the executive. What they did was as stipulated by the law which is Appropiation. The only project that was claimed to be removed was the Lagos calabar rail projwct and we have also read severally which the Ameachi has also confirmed that it was during a NASS committee hearing that he realise it was missing and request it in during the hearing. Has that not change the entirety of the document that Mr. President submitted to the floor of both house initially? Because figures will change also in total. Only one section of the house will impute a project and not in the presence of all. Should misappropriation takes place like we have in the arms deal, who nows bears the blame cos we know how to toss blame and not accept faults in this country.

We should learn to get things right from the word go and understand that it's not bout ego or proof of power but learning to do what is right for the country so the country can experience the desired unity peace and growth.

The onus is on the executive however way we look at it. Moreso, we should strengthen our institutions of which the NASS is a part of, not tear it down because of sentiments towards the the executive. Everybody keep blaming the senate for an error that started with the executive from day one.

Let's do what's right and what's right is to follow due process as laid down by the Nigerian constitution. If the executive feels otherwise, they shouldn't act with impunity but seek to change the constitution through legitimate means to get their desire results and that's where the real politics is not oppressing, deceiving, lying and deny and imposing....
