Ahmad Gumi, a prominent Muslim cleric, has described the preaching bill that has been generating controversy in Kaduna state as unconstitutional.

Nasir El-Rufai, governor of Kaduna, had said the bill was an updated version of an existing law required to curtail inflammatory sermons by faith leaders.

But in an interview in the April edition of The Interview, Gumi said the bill had gone too far.

“If you are trying to fight terrorism and extremism, you don’t clamp on the freedom of speech, freedom of thought and freedom of propagation of thoughts. These liberties are enshrined in the constitution,” he said.

However, he said that the bill could drive extremism underground.

The cleric also described Boko Haram as “100% a Muslim problem”, accusing some people in the north of “cooperating with and working to protect them.”

“Boko Haram as it now is cannot prosper in Ibadan, because the locals will expose them. The same in Enugu. The people agitating for Biafra cannot prosper in the north because they will be exposed.

“We have to understand that these people are from amongst us and that the society is not doing enough to bring these elements out. I can tell you that Boko Haram is 100% a Muslim problem.”

Gumi, who also described the agitation for Biafra as “analogue,” challenged Muslim leaders to do more to combat Boko Haram.

He also spoke on the military-Shiite clash in Zaria; the ongoing investigation into the $2.1billion arms scandal involving Sambo Dasuki, the former national securuty adviser; and the anti-corruption war of President Muhammadu Buhari’s government.

is this man from northern Nigeria? I doubt..

so we still have people like this Muslim man in Nigeria who stand by truth in respective of religion or ethnicity.

this remind me of Letter I composed to Kaduna

Open Letter To Kaduna State Governor Nasir Ahmad El-rufai -- By Joel3

To the Kaduna state Government concerning the religious Law.

The alleged Religious law that is causing controversy on social media which it aim is to restrict or monitor religious activity & ban public preaching.

Been that as it may, I would like to commend the state governments for coming up with such a law to checkmate and frustrate the fundamentalist and islamists terrorist groups.

If the aim of this law is for Muslim religion then its a welcome development, in fact it should have been earlier. The extremist in Muslims religion has been known as threat to any circular government and host community. And even here in Nigeria it has been proven without reasonable doubt and I wouldn't want to go further or start mentioning names.

While the Christian religion in the other hand has been know for defrauding followership of the same congregation or convert of church properties which is registered as non profit organization to ownership of the head pastors..

Its important to note that The present CAN (Christian Association of Nigeria) is a reflection of today churches both upcoming and old Christian preachers.

And even at that, These Christian preachers has not been known to cause danger to society, they obeyed state laws and host community, they do not kidnap or forced convert, they do not forced preach or forced people with harm to bring their money. They do not preach hate against government.

I do not see what kind of check you need to do concerning Christian faith preachers. It's baseless and of no need. A christian preacher do not need any licence to preach. If you had seen any Christian preacher on the road or in any commercial buses park, they do not teach about hate or turn followers against State, both Government or Host community. Its either they preach about repentance, praying for miracles or protection to listeners, they do not beg for arms. In fact I would like to invite you to south south and south east, and showed you Christian churches where Muslims sit at the church gate lineup and beg for arms.

These churches are accommodating and do not send this Muslims beggars away. If you want to ban churches you either come out plain and tell us.

The C.A.N do not need to license any preacher it shouldn't be so . the C.A.N itself is corrupt. Christian faith preachers shouldn't be included in that law and there is nothing to ban in Christian Preachers.

And in the other hand. There is a lot of things to checkmate in Muslim religion. We should not shy away from the truth or bias. We have seen and witness all atrocities we got from this religion even right now as we speak. Millions of people are homeless and economic sabotage.

The Christian faith should be excluded from that Law. Otherwise it aim is a war against the Christian Faith.

Nigerians Christian should resit that law. We should not shy to speak out.

Please spread this on social media.

That bill should be thrown away for the interest of all. El'rufai must be stopped from forcing his fundamentalist moslem ideology on everyone in the state.
If he's so eager to promote his chaotic, radical Islamic creed, he should apply to be the chief imam of sambisa forest.

“If you are trying to fight terrorism and

Is it not obvious today in Nigeria that unguarded freedom of speech, thoughts and freedom of propagation of thought as stated by Gumi, are d problems we ve today in Nigeria? Extraodinary times require extraordinary solutions!
