Contradictions by Nobody: 9:41am On Apr 22, 2016
01

Love caused it
We loved each other
Until no love was found
And our vows ;
Not to marry without love
Now,
We no longer say forever

02

My belly caused it
Greed...
Ate, and ate, and ate
Until I became hungry
My appetite is gone
With a lonely belly
I've been hospitalised

03

Our teacher caused it
Gave us fear and what to read
We read, and read, and read
We failed
The questions were too simple
Now, the same subject again...
The same teacher

04

Yes, patience caused it
I waited...I did wait
Until she was found with another man's child
And trust,
She gave me her word
As for the child
It carries my DNA.

05

Unemployment caused it
Always at home
Always together
Introduced her to my fiance
Now my fiance is dead
I never loved my fiance
My lover is dead

06

My grandma caused it
I'm her grand son
But my father isn't her son
We called the doctor
It is true
I'm her step grand son
Grandma is dead.

Analysis

The write ups are pictures of some contradicting and puzzling scenarios that appear resolved and unresolved. A compilation of the possible (eg 6 ) and the impossible ( eg 4 and 5).

Intention : To write an ironic poem.

Which form is this, free verse?

Yeah...I wanted to use a form but my ideas won't fit in for any form I could think so I made it a free verse. It was hard.

The only pattern that exist is the constant seven lines in all of the stanzas.

Yes that's a septet. Still, next time, when you have an idea about a poem, just trying writing that poem using any given poetry form or structure.

Almost all the poems in this section is written in free verse form. Poets should be versatile and start experimenting other forms/structure.

Ok...I'll try and do just that. Though it would take me time but would get used to it. Thanks.

So, your critique on the work please?
