No fewer than 13 people were reportedly killed on Monday and Thursday by Fulani herdsmen in several communities in Bali and Donga local government areas of Taraba state.
This is coming barely 10 days after 44 people were killed and hundreds of others displaced by Fulani herdsmen in several communities in Gashaka and Bali local government areas of the state.
Confirming the incident to newsmen in Jalingo, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Joseph Kwaji, said two Tiv farmers were attacked and killed while sleeping by suspected Fulani herdsmen at Bornon Kurku village in Bali local government.
On the killings in Donga local government area, Kwaji stated that two Fulanis, who were suspected robbers, were killed around Igo village, prompting other Fulanis to mobilise and attack the village, burning houses in the process but he claimed that no life was lost in the incident.
He however revealed that the command has deployed officers and men to the area to return normalcy, saying investigations are on to bring the perpetrators of the attack to book.
