Aisha Augie-Kuta, a Nigerian photographer and SSA New Media to Kebbi State Governor posted the photos, revealing that only three out of the children pictured here attend school. "The future! Only 3 of them go to school, we must work together to uplift the girl child. They create brooms on farms." she wrote.

A recent report by UNICEF said that about 10 million children are currently out of school in Northern Nigeria. Most of these out-of-school children are girls residing in rural areas. Unifef officer in Katsina State, Shehu Mohammed, identified poverty and socio-cultural and economic environment as reason for poor enrolment of children in schools.

The government should ensure she the girl child education programmes.

Their elders,religious clerics,politicians would not encourage that and yet they will be the ones wailing that the poverty level and lack of education in the north is high.

No wonder they are being used as sucide bombers.El-rufai and co wont pass a law that promotes girl education but want 2 pass religious law.SMH
