I know some of you may be wondering why the brutal topic? As i sat in my living room watching channels faceoff, there was an argument between the Head of CACOL and senator Paul Oni. I cried from pain as my heart was crushed. CACOL asked Oni, CACOL: "Is it fair for the senate to purchase these cars with hungry people in this country" ONI: "Well the ministers and the executive are buying why shouldn't we"? CACOL: "We are not represented by the ministers and Executive, we are represented by you" Basically, He diverted the topic to economic situation and no light, no fuel. CACOL brings the topic back CACOL: "We are talking of cars bought, not economic situation, they are not related" ONI: "It is our right to buy the cars." Look people the discussion took long, but in all the senators were very not concerned about what the people thought. Even after CACOL pointed out that over 80% of Nigerians live on less than $2 dollars a day. Oni was not interested in the people, he was interested in defending the senate saying that PDP rule was good for the country and things were fine under PDP rule. My heart sunk in pain. I am writing with tears in my eyes, that Nigerians have to play numb to these hopeless sub-humans. We might have to use one senator as an example to prove this point. It is like this thing is not working. They need to be beaten up and beaten up properly. Really seriously. No one will understand this except u watched that program. WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING NOW. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6BmLPmDsx6o&index=1&list=PLEF485CE28000E404 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m2dmVQOtCac&list=PLEF485CE28000E404&index=2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5uKuTN72xio&index=3&list=PLEF485CE28000E404 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yS1l7X_Wah4&list=PLEF485CE28000E404&index=4 4 Likes 3 Shares |

Take heart,Africans were never meant for self rule no need to shed tears. Africans all over the continent feel your pain from north to south. This is the way things will always be,just find your place in society and contribute your own quota to the development of the country. This has been the way Nigerian leaders have been since 1960 when people like Okotie-Eboh ruled, nothing is new under the sun. 3 Likes |

We deserve selfless people n not ds polithiefcians. SALARY OF NIGERIAN SENATORS. After reading through this Special Report, any shred of doubt in the reader's mind that Nigeria is doomed and heading for a headlong, downward plummeting will simply dissipate. The details of the remuneration of an average Nigerian Senator is detailed below: * Basic Salary (B.S) - N2,484,245.50 * Hardship Allowance (50% of B.S) - N1,242,122.70 * Constituency Allowance (200% of B.S) - N4,968,509.00 * Newspapers Allowance (50% of B.S) - N1,242,122.70 * Wardrobe Allowance (25% of B.S) - N621,061.37 * Recess Allowance (10% of B.S) - N248,424.55 * Accommodation (200% of B.S) - N4,968,509.00 * Utilities (30% of B.S) - N828,081.83 * Domestic Staff (70% of B.S) - N1,863,184.12 * Entertainment (30% of B.S) - N828,081.83 * Personal Assistants (25% of B.S) - N621,061.12 * Vehicle Maintenance Allowance (75% of B.S) - N1,863,184.12 * Leave Allowance (10% of B.S) - N248,424.55 * Severance Gratuity (300% of B.S) - N7,452,736.50 * Car Allowance (400% of B.S) - N9,936,982.00 * TOTAL MONTHLY SALARY = N29,479,749.00 ($181,974.00) * TOTAL YEARLY SALARY = N29,479,749.00 x 12 = N353,756,988.00 ($2,183,685.00) * EXCHANGE RATE: $1 = N162 LEGISLATORS PAY WORLDWIDE PER ANNUM * Britain - $105,400.00 * United States - $174,000.00 * France - $85,900.00 * South Africa - $104,000.00 * Kenya - $74,500.00 * Saudi Arabia - $64,000.00 * Brazil - $157,600.00 * Ghana - $46,500.00 * Indonesia - $65,800.00 * Thailand - $43,800.00 * India - $11,200.00 * Italy - $182,000.00 * Bangladesh - $4,000.00 * Israel - $114,800.00 * Hong Kong - $130,700.00 * Japan - $149,700.00 * Singapore - $154,000.00 * Canada - $154 000.00 * New Zealand - $112,500.00 * Germany - $119,500.00 * Ireland - $120,400.00 * Pakistan - $3,500.00 * Malaysia - $25,300.00 * Sweden - $99 300.00 * Sri Lanka - $5,100.00 * Spain - $43,900.00 * Norway - $138,000.00 In terms of lawmakers’ salaries as a ratio of GDP per capita, the gap is even much wider. While the salary of a Nigerian lawmaker is 116 times the country’s GDP per person, that of a British member of parliament is just 2.7 times. The average salary of Nigerian worker based on the national minimum wage is N18,000.00, So, the yearly salary is N18,000.00 x 12 = N216,000.00 ($1,333.00) Remember, Yearly Salary of Nigerian Senator = $2,183,685.00. Proportion: $2,183,685.00/$1,333.00 = 1,638 It will take an average Nigerian worker 1,638 years to earn the yearly salary of a Nigerian Senator. Are Nigerian senators aliens from outer space? Are they not Nigerians like you, with relatives and children who are also Nigerians? So why try to categorize them as people who are alien to the Nigerian way of life and sociocultural system? Most of the legislators were ordinary masses like you and other Nigerians. Who wished for a better life and once cursed the Nigerian government and politicians. So what changed about them? The problem is not the legislative member or the chamber but the country as a whole. This country you call Nigeria is a terrible, hopeless and useless country. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

haliruali:If you take a look at what senators in other African countries such as Ghana and South Africa earn, even at $1 to #150 or in good economic times, they could live in comfort. If the figures for Nigerian senators are true, then their renumeration is just obscene. 1 Like |

AngryNigerian:Wow!! Where did this happen?? Those guys must have had enough of their legislators. Never support jungle justice/mob action, but honestly, I think our legislators deserve no less! Imagine the man to the left defending this obvious criminality claiming he can't use a four years old car. These are cars for which the government pays heavy maintenance cost!! I also criticised the government over making budgetary provisions for items that are reusable over long periods of time, like kitchen utensils. These things shouldn't be done!! I weep for my motherland. 1 Like |
