Feeds, Widgets , Search etc should be in place within a month. I need to grow the user base first, then figure out where to focus the most attention

For a news site, I think you need to add the kitchen sink and then some up front.  You then fine tune based on excess rather than shortage. What else will be your Unique Selling Point?

There are tons of sites out there.  If yours looks like everyone out there, I will stick with what I know.   Talking about NL for a moment, I have joined other fora in the past.  This one is unique to me in terms of topics posted and so I dumped the others and stuck with this.
