He spoke under Order 43 of the Senate Standing Orders to make a Personal Explanation over the mayhem in Uzo- Uwani community, where he said over 50 lives were reportedly lost, while over 2000 persons were displaced and homes amid property worth millions of Naira were destroyed. He called on the Senate to immediately conduct a public hearing to enable all stakeholders to state their feelings and experiences with a view to finding a lasting solution to the issue. He said, “Mr. President, remember I call your attention to a resolution of this Senate on Thursday 03 March, 2016. Recall that on that day, one of the issues we discussed was a motion titled ‘tackling the perennial conflicts between farmers and cattle herdsmen’. “At the end of that debate, we took a number of resolutions. I recall that in my contribution I suggested that the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development as well as the Committee on National Security and Intelligence do conduct a public hearing on this matter with a view to articulating a lasting solution to the problem. “Up till now, that public hearing has not started. It is important for Nigerians to know that we are doing something about this perennial problem. It is not enough for us to be doing something; we must be seen to be doing something. “I believe that it is time for the committees to come together and commence action on these resolutions namely, to start a public hearing on this problem between the farmers and the cattle herdsmen. “I say this because it is getting too late. “Just yesterday, we heard that over 50 persons were killed in Uzo- Uwani Local Government in Enugu State. We heard about 2000 people were displaced and over a hundred people were injured. Houses were burnt, including churches. “As I speak, some people who live in Enugu, ESPECIALLY THE HAUSA AND FULANI are taking refuge in the Army barracks and it is not good for our country. These are people who didn’t know about those who went and attacked the ordinary people of Uzo-Uwani and today they are now refugees. “It also implies that if any person dies in the process, there could also be reprisals in other parts of Nigeria and this can engulf the whole country.” Ekweremadu tasked security agencies in the country, especially those within Enugu State, to without any further delay, fish out the perpetrators of the dastardly act, with a view to making them face the full wrath of the law. While condoling with the families of the victims; the DSP urged them not to lose their patience. http://www.punchng.com/ekweremadu-condemns-herdsmen-attack-on-enugu-community/ 22 Likes 4 Shares |

That is what Buharis 'silent working'/tacit support to Fulani terrorists brought upon the country. Are we sure those terrorists are not hiding at army barracks too cos it won't be a surprise due to recent actions of DSS, Police and the Army. 197 Likes 13 Shares |

This is the height of grand conspiracy to decimate other tribes and create fear among other regions. So there was a call for a round table discussions to stop this ugly menace by Buhari herdsmen and some people sat on the progress of this call. South south and south east should brace up for the worst and have to be proactive. Before they become refugees in their own land. The Buhari herdsmen will cowardly come like a thief in the midnight to kill, destroy and render people homeless. They will hurriedly seek refuge and protections in a military Barack. Then a governor of the state will come and offer 2 days dry fasting.tupiakwa and bleep peaceful coexistence If president Buhari doesn't act to stop this unwarranted killing of innocent citizens. Then people should protected themselves with any available means.Enough is enough 49 Likes 6 Shares

It seems buhari practically handed the fulani militias keys to the national armoury, CBN and military protection. A Fulani commandant is in power and we would have to deal with it! 44 Likes 3 Shares |

And the op had to twist the original title to incite ethnoreligious bigots like himself. Before you lot musturbatte till day break on this thread, here's what the DSP said: As I speak, some people who live in Enugu, ESPECIALLY THE HAUSA AND FULANIThis is for those whose hearts are filled with so much hatred they can hardly read the first paragraph without making a mockery of themselves. 22 Likes 3 Shares |

omenka: Will you shut up. A community was sacked in the middle of the night while they slept for no reason whatsoever by the same people the army is out there protecting. It shouldn't take much brain cells to tell you by day break, the youths of the town or even family members of the people they killed will want to revenge back ( after all that's Africa Nigga. An eye for an eye is all we understand). The fulani from north that ran to Enugu to start shit because of f2kimg missing cows triggered this and the people that'll bear the wrath are sadly the innocent hausa/fulani that very likely didn't know wtf was going on. In my opinion, the fulani are weak as f2k. They like the definition of the biggest bully. Last we checked, it was Abia people that attacked their cows, not Enugu. Abia has been kicking them when they start their Wahalla so instead they took their "revenge" to Enugu that's more peaceful. I hope Enugu people have learned their lesson. Being nice to Fulani is the biggest, dumbest, move you can make. Better start copying Abia and Anambra style. You see how una bear the blunt of Abia "dealing with them"...that says alot. A bully picks on the weak, not those that will fought them back. Enugu people Copy Abia. Copy them to the T when it comes to dealing with Fulani. I don warn una. 96 Likes 6 Shares |
