i would have agreed with u until u claimed olajumoke is richer than his father.... that's wrong ..you don't even know his father...u just insulted him...only students who respect their own parents can respect other people's parents....my point is... sch. isn't just about reading and passing.. it teaches other things. The fact that u don't respect other people's parents.... is something u should have learnt in sch.

op,you really need to work on your grammar honestly. I believe you have completed at least 12 years of formal education,so your grammar ought to be better than what you have posted here. Read good books. Play scrabble games to help your vocabulary. Get yourself a dictionary.Wish you luck.

OP,
You cant even construct or outline your points in a comprehensive approach to discredit private universities to your public universities.
I believe you still need to bend your trunk, make your proper research and head back to Nairaland to back up your fallacious claims because this is a very poor write up

In all,I still represent MADONNA UNIVERSITY 2010/2011 set.

Hi op, your thread was so ridiculous and uneducated thus forcing a comment from me.
I have 3 points for you
1. My dad is no millionaire but I attended a private Uni
2. I had an extra semester in Uni due to carry overs contrary to your sad misinformed point.
3. I got my msc from a federal Uni (UI) and I can boldly say that the federal uni system is a farce riddled with corruption, victimization and an archaic mentality with a sad mentality that you must suffer an grope before you become a graduate.
Your post shows that you are definitely ignorant, bitter and need to work on your grammar. It's nobody's fault that you weren't opportuned to attend a private Uni. Very few private universities don't give quality education. Please educate yourself before you come and type jargons here.

Going to school nowadays are not to get certificate but to defend what you carry. ..in this thread I shall be disscusing some major point not to go to private institutions such as poly or uni.

1) there fee are high that it takes the rich alone to be there or maybe your parents are also having some helpers such younger brothers, sisters, uncle,or any relatives..Compared to federal or state institutions some federal institutions are paying #20,000 as school fee and I trust my self if I keep up with my importation biz I can pay my school fee even without letting my Parent to know.

2)promoting them whether do test or fail a single paper no carry over nothing because they can't pay a very huge amount of money and still fail them is rubbish come and do such in OAU if you're not serious you will go back home

3)not able to defend their result, you cannot expect school that has no competition to know book because when you are busy reading hard in public institutions to maintain your slut in the department you vouch For chai if they bring their overall best from private Institution them no fit defeat you because you spending most of your time reading all ways and not to be rusticated from school private cannot match US... My guys in Angola and awo hostel can testify to it..

4)if you are going to private just know in your heart that your issue of getting employed is base on I sabi person or I go work for papa company because I have seen a situation that a girl has a certificate from one private poly in southwest I will not mention name of the school this girl was dismiss when she can't write a good application letter,i was dissapointed in me because if people are talking about school she will also be talking..and also public certificate are well recognized than private. .it is very hard for private ond student to do direct entry to public institutions even hnd in public institutions is very hard for private to be admitted.

5)they don't do post utme they buy space in the school admission and become there student, by so doing I believe they are dull if you are not dull why not go and compete with your mate In federal poly or uni because the idea of people saying that they was denied admission that was the main reason they went to private but if you know the formula you will not be denied admission and the formula is this you scored 185 in utme and you chose unn or some other mighty schools in Nigeria and still put medicine and surgery as course oga no waste your time and money na come back next year be that but if you change your institution and course plus hardwork in reading it will Surely

Add yours if you agree and quote me wrong if you are a victim of private institution grin
Private fees are not that high.
Take Covenant University for example: 800k per year. And that's for everything.
An average student in a state university would spend around the same if not more paying fees, accommodation, feeding, books, Internet access, clothing, buying fuel for generators, etc.
And you can't say someone is dull for choosing to attend the best university available. Covenant is one of the best in Nigeria so why will you say someone should leave covenant and go to low-rate underfunded federal universities.
What is the name of the school of that girl you were tslking about. I'm sure that was made up because I see no reason for you to hide such information.
Most students in public Universities I have seen are lax. They only know how to attend parties. Very few of them read. Private universities enable learning to be easier.
You are just saying what you feel happens in private universities. You probably have never studied in one. So how can you just stay and write about what you know nothing about.
Public Universities encourage theft, cultism, partying instead of academic advancement. They are underfunded, have hostels worse than a pig sty, and go on incessant strikes.

Like you said, going to school is not about certificate, so why are you so perturbed about an individual studying in a private institution. Maybe because you know they do not suffer the distractions that you do, and may end up making more progress academically.
Well, the truth hurts. Stop deceiving yourself.
You're just hating what you cannot afford.

So how come my siblings and I went to private universities, graduated well, working in great places... E.g, I work with the consulate to the U. S embassy and have my own travel agency... Running masters Programe also and I live well. How was I the best when I did a post Graduate programme? Honey truth is truth.. U got money, go to a private Institute and forget about all the worries of strike and all. Don't forget, most of this schools actually have better facilities and even foreign lecturers. If you don't have money, face the public schools and don't try to mouth wash private schools just to make yourself feel better. It's as simple as that. Public or private? A school is a school. By the way, am just 23 years old.

OP, those who live in glass houses don't throw stones. You just embarrassed yourself with the highlighted phrases above and pitifully dragged OAU into your mud. This your write should be titled, "Bad english from a Public University Student". The way you are even repeating, "private, private", one will think you are referring to something else. I finished from UNN, did my Masters in FUTA and now work in OAU but i will also commend the efforts of some private universities.
