UITH Second Open Heart Surgery by Alhaji1970: 10:24am On Apr 27, 2016
The second phase of UITH open heart surgery which started on 24th April 2016 is progressing progressively as planned with successful repair/closure of the second patient Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) yesterday.
This was made known by somebody close to the management of the hospital this morning.
The third surgery as at the time of filing this report was on going.

We wish the hospital well in its bid to give sucour to the hitherto hopeless patient.
Prof. Olatinwo AWO, the CMD had made it known that the open heart surgery has come to stay and would be a continuous exercise in UITH, Ilorin. He is set to commission the Catlab tomorrow morning for some minimally invasive heart and cardiovascular procedures such as cardiac catheterization, embolisation treatment, stenting of vesels to prevent stroke, etc.
