1. Corruption is in our DNA. It is impossible to degrade it. Nigerians exploit all and every opportunity to profit from road blocks and red tape. 2. The bigger the government footprint, the bigger the opportunity for corruption. Any subsidy will be abused. Deregulation is the only option. 3. It is clear that the government's fiscal and exchange rate policy fuels corruption. 4. It is clear Mr. President is determined to continue where he left off in 1984. I will advise Nigerians dust up their history books and peruse them very carefully. 5. The NNPC is the biggest stumbling block to the nation's development and diversification of the economy. 6. No amount of will power of any individual leader can change the course of this country without fundamentally restructuring it and this will only happen with the express permission of the citizens of this country themselves. Nuff said. |

Something is definitely wrong with this government. From common budget, fuel scarcity, economy.... I mean there's nothing they've been able to get right! Their own lack of clue is really nauseating. |

NavierStokes: The existence of subsidies can not be divorced from abuse- Alexander Hamilton The price of both fuel and forex will continue to be ruinously subsidised until Buhari leaves. He thinks he is doing the country a massive favour. The queues speak otherwise 1 Like |

bigass123: I bet u didn't read the whole write up. How do u expect them to sell below cost price? The 86 naira was calculated for them with exchange of 197 but these men can not get the said exchange rate @ 197, dey resort to black market to source for fX @ a higher price, do u think it will be feasible to sell @ 86naira? FG doesn't know what it is doing. They don't consult b4 doing anything and that is why they end up blaming anything they see. FG is the one sabotaging it's efforts. And they knew it, but still want to force it down their throats with task force, when they know it is not feasible. It will be worse for FG is these independent importers stop bringing in the 60% they normally bring for lack of fX, even d remaining 40%,NNPC couldn't deliver. |

otokx: When task force is working, na that time masses go suffer well well How can I buy from depots @ N120/litre + transportation and other costs and then u will force me to sell @ N86? I will simply close shops, I can't be loosing nah. U can't also blame the depots, FG calculated d N86 @ normal exchange rates of N197/dollar, but could not make fX available for importers, so dey source locally. And den add all the cost of production to sell @ N120 as against d N74 proposed by FG. FG are not telling themselves the truth, if things remain this way? The queues @ d petrol stations will remain dere till 2019. They are just shooting themselves in the leg. |
