It appears our minister of Petroleum President Buhari is not capable of performing magic like his predecessor Mrs Diezani Madueke. Ever since May 29th, 2015 our downstream petroleum sector has experienced drastic changes. Petrol is no longer sold at the official price of N86.50, but now sold at N130, N150 or N200 in filling stations, black market prices varies but is much more expensive as expected.

We are presently experiencing almost a year of fuel scarcity and NLC is silent on our plight. People now carry jerrycans up and down as if they are carrying handbags. Two years ago, when I visited Benin republic I saw this situation and I shook my head in pity, I never knew that it was coming to us soon.

When will we drive into filling stations once again to buy fuel? This is the question Buhari(our present minister of Petroleum) needs to answer as soon as possible. If this fuel crisis reaches May 29th, 2016, it will mark another disastrous profile to his crown as the minister of petroleum.
