In my short but eventful journey here on earth I look around situations, events, people and see the highs, lows, opportunities and afflictions. While processing different thoughts and emotions all I can say is life is but a journey. Some heads are looking for caps while some caps are looking for heads and at the end of the day who do you turn to I wonder why people fall into a situation, pray and give testimony of the presence of God in that situation while others pray but it seems God may have taken a vacation just when they prayed. When a situation not favorable arises what’s your first reaction? When it seems God’s promises aren’t forthcoming, what’s the first reaction? Going through my devotionals and listening to the messages of my pastors I wonder what must have been going through the minds of Sarah, Joseph, Isaac, Hannah, the widow of Zarephath, Jabez and even Jacob who had the opportunity to wrestle with an angel. I ask myself if I had the opportunity would I win or give up. If I had to wait for 17 years like Joseph or 25 years like Sarah would I still want to hear the name Jesus or even call it out? I notice we take certain things for granted. I sometimes focus on what I should have or what I deserve instead of what I actually do have. I have been forced to ask myself if I actually know the God I serve. A while back I wanted to buy something and when I didn’t I put the money back in my account; 3 weeks later the same thing was given to me without me asking for it and it was even better than what I wanted to buy!! The voice within me said ‘Sapphire, patience is a virtue; what you would have spent money on was given to you free of charge’. When the devil brings situations that make your going to church or faith in God seem like a waste, do you trust God to give you the strength to power through? Do you really know the God you serve? cc lalasticla 6 Likes 1 Share |

Sapphire86: This actually has literally been true all of my Christian life. Sometimes He lets me purchase things (the laborer is worthy of his wages), but other times, He has been so kind as to give them to me at reduced prices or totally free! |
