I believe it takes great bravery and courage to display his allegiance to the Gods of his forefathers in these times when our forefathers faith and spirituality are viewed as demonaic by devilish people called xtians and muslims.

Even Some Of Their (whites) So Called College Fraternities Initiations Are Not Different From Nigerian Campus Cult Initiation.

White people do their own too. Go watch and read about Bohemian groove or check out YouTube for videos about them. Even skull and bones. Don't be too hasty to compare blacks negatively to whites. Whether your religious principles accept it or not, is another story all together

So because he's a senator, he shouldn't take part in the burial right of his father??

Can you tell me the significance of those garments wore by catholic and Anglican priests?

Such ignorance, do u think they are humiliating themselves?

For crying out loud, his immediate community accepts whatever he is doing as that is how they believed in, it is none of your business.

In some parts of the world, some people still go nàked, do u call that humiliation?

For crying out loud, that is what they believe in, it is none of your business.

Please try to live above hate for other people, it hinders your own success.

Whatever this man did, is it more humiliating than the virgins going to be choosed by their Swazi king?

My point is, they also do theirs. Whether in public or secret. They do theirs and that is that. Plus I never mentioned some of those you listed up there. But I understand, you want to prove a point and prove it so eagerly that you would add your own ideas to make mine look silly. To say that white mans own is classier than this is another matter all together. The point I made in my other post still stands. They do theirs too.

What has ones religious practice got to do with ones political aspirations or occupation?

What is wrong with him identifying with his cultural roots?

Shebi it's a rite of passage?

We have all passed through a Rite of passage at one stage or another in our lives: circumcision, baptism, wedding, etc.

The question to ask is what is wrong in being a native doctor? Enough of the foreign imposed religion. We are Africans and Nigerians, native doctoring is our ancestor's way. Any religion be it Christianity, Islam or Native Custom Religion is a cult. So Sahara Reporters should shut up their nonsense reporting.

Buhari want to Saudi to initiate Nigeria into Boko Haram and no body said anything. Stupid news from a stupid news outlet... So when Dino Melaye takes up the Chief Protector of is community, all the ceremony was ritual or becoming a Native Doctor. When Zuma as President observes is local Zulu culture he now becomes a Native Doctor. Even Tinubu has some titles in yoruba land, the ceremonies too are Native Doctor and ritual.

Sahara reporters too sectional and stupid, that's why you can't see any foreign news outlet quoting them. Always into blackmailing politicians to get a little change from them.

I think this is the Òzò title... The Ozo is one of the highest ranking titles in Igbo culture second to none..

In Igbo culture, there have no traditional monarchs except for 1 the ancestral Nri Stool every other is a product of the colonial government.

You do not come with respect in Igbo culture, you are not born with it neither does your father's respect rub off on you. No you earn it from what you do.

Only your worth will prove if you are worthy to be among men!!!

Good one senator keep flying the flags of our African culture.
I equally have no problems with people that choose to celebrate and uplift their ancestral traditions but i would like to correct certain impressions in your post.
Firstly, all Igbo royal stools were not set up my colonial governments as your post suggest.
The Royal stools of Onitsha, Arochukwu and Nnewi among others were already existing before any colonial government. Nri is not the highest Royal authority in the entire Igboland however it is respected in her regions of influence. Igbos don't have anything like a central royal stool.
Ozo is an Nri institution and it's quite restricted. In my region, there is nothing like Ozo and we have no knowledge of what it stands for.
It will be wise if you specify regions when dealing with sort of topic.

Bros i quoted you because you are very close to the truth and made a lot of sense. This is not an initiation into any cult as the op and Sr will have the public believe. It was actually the burial rites for the senators late father. His father was an OBI and as the tradition demands they are buried in culturally befitting ways. Yes the senators hometown Igbuzo and Nri go back a long way. The founder of the town was a son of the king of NRI.
