Growing up had always been a slim, tall, dark, happy kid....always happy and go about my business. It all changed when i was in primary 6 or Jss1 i guess, i noticed some marks on my arm and i became worried, my friends then were like"you're going to grow fat o, this is a fat mark and all", i thought they were joking until i started adding weight, i became worried and mom was also worried so she asked people for what i can use, they told her about bio-oil, she bought it, i use it everyday, but there was no changes, instead it keep growing....imagine the pain of a child of a once smooth skin and most admired body, was worried that i cried most times to sleep....couldn't expose like my mates, was body conscious and became aggressive, mom was now too worried that she buys anything as long as it has "cures stretch mark on it", and i use everything as if my life depended on it, wouldn't eat to school, and only eat when i come, was starving myself hoping to shed weight and also get rid of the marks, but unknown to me, tje marks have come to stay..... Then one day i went to my dad's family house, when i got there, i saw all my aunties and uncles with stretch marks on their body, and the funny thing almost all of them are slim, and laziness is far from them....then i began questioning myself and doing some researches, and i found my own stretch aint due to laziness, dirtiness, being fat, but due to hereditary, due to my father's family genetic make up.....i was so upset, why me!, even quizzed my mom why she didn't look well before marrying into the family( and d funny thing is, my mom doesn't have even one stretch mark on her body, even tho she transited from slim to big).. I have used cocobutter(still using it), ori(shear butter), bio-oil, coconut oil, aloe vera e.t.c, never used a bleaching cream, bath twice daily sometimes more, never wore a dirty cloth unless washed, if i put on a cloth today, won't wear d next day until i wash it, wash my undies daily...e.t.c.....with all these how can someone now say i don't deserve to live just because of my hereditary ish, did i choose it, did i ask for it, or how does a child of 11/12years old ask for such, do you know the pains of seeing other big(plus size) girls like you without a single stretch mark on their body, do u think we feel happy when we can't expose our self in public due to what people would say and think  , you guys should stop stereotyping, not every ladies with stretch marks have it because they are dirty, lazy, and fat, most times it due to genetics(like mine).....And guys also do have stretch marks, Not just Ladies.... 7 Likes |

The only way to completely get rid of stretch marks is to do laser surgery. Shea butter will help fade it and some other creams are great too. You can use Shea butter at night coz that's when our skin repairs itself so it'll be more effective. Also stretch marks show when the skin is not firm, if your skin is firm you can have stretch marks and it won't still be visible so try going to the gym or do some workout at home. |

Stretch marks is unappealing to the sight and can turn off a guy in the bedroom. I'd urge everyone who has one to implore means of eradicating it rather than adorn themselves with a phantom hope of it not being a disease. It ain't a disease is a puerile attempt at underscoring the reluctant deportment of people with stretch marks not seeking for medicinal help. Bollocks. |
