Lessons From Verdy's Leicester by Bibline(m): 1:32am On May 03, 2016 |
Jamie Verdy Smashed a Ruud Van Nistelrooy's goal scoring streak of 10 consecutive goals in as much games on 28/11/2015 against Manchester United making him the only player that ever achieved this feat in the premier league. The 28 years old was named the English premier league player of the month on October 2015 and sits at the top of the league's goal scorers chat with 11 goals. He was named Leicester City's player's player of the 2011/2012 season prior to His most recent achievement. He was called to represent the English national team on 21st of May, 2015. Everything seem to be going V9's ways. Every ball he kicks seems to hit it's target. However,Verdy's 2012/13 season was the cross road in his career. He was purchased for a non-league record of £1m by Leicester City from Fleetwood-an English conference side that later gained promotion to the championship through Vardy's prolific effort where he scored a total of 51 goals in 103 games . Verdy's loss of form in his first season at Leicester and fan's reaction on social media made him consider quitting football until manager Nigel Pearson and assistant manager Craig Shakespeare convinced him tocontinue with the club. Today, even if James Verdy goes bad, he already has his name written in gold. Every good football fan will hope to see more of him for at least another 3 extra seasons and hope he'll not be another Benjani Nwaruwaru or Michu. Today, Leicester city made history bringing to reality an old addidas slogan. "impossible is nothing". And as sweet as V9 story sounds even more inspiring is the feet achieve by the team. The never tired Ngolo Kante, The Gilberto-like Drinkwater and The creative Riyad Mahrez amongst other. The great life lesson is this. Never right off anybody and Anybody shouldn't right off himself Many times we get too worried about our condition or people's impression about us. Verdy was lucky to get good people around him. We might not. we just have to be by ourselves, not relenting, holding on to God's promises. Someone said time heals everything. well, that true to some extent. God heals everything. keep trusting God till you are celebrated. 1 Like |
