Fulani Herdsmen's Cattle Spotted At UNILAG by Orikinla(m): 8:02am On May 04, 2016 |
Our roving security surveillance searching for trespassing Fulani herdsmen saw their cattle grazing in the canal at the University of Lagos, but we did not see the Fulani herdsmen. They may be watching from a distance. Lagos is the biggest market for beef in West Africa attracting many Fulani herdsmen to sell thousands of cattle everyday. And they have been peaceful grazing their cattle in open fields where there are green plants and water. We will be on the look out for suspicious movements. Please, be vigilant

If Fulani herdsmen can be controlled to be peaceful in Lagos without violent confrontation, then other states should emulate Lagos. You should not wait until they trespass your land before meeting them. Meet them outside the borders and let them know their limits. A stitch in time saves nine. |

Those cows you see along canals in Lagos are not owned by Fulani but private citizens and boys raising cows and rams for ram fights I am not saying there are no roaming cows along some canals in Lagos, (Unilag, somolu, apata, bariga, gbagada canals) but they are few and owned by private citizens not professional Fulani herders Don't cause panic in Lagos... 1 Like |
