– Violence erupted right after the game involving Kano Pillars and Enyimba

– Enyimba FC driver was said to have been on the receiving end, getting injured in the process

– Pillars lost to Enyimba at the Sani Abacha stadium

Following their 1 – 2 home-loss to Enyimba football club at their Sani Abacha stadium in Kano, supporters of Kano Pillars have allegedly descended heavily on the bus driver of the league champions.

The driver, whose name was yet to be ascertained as at the time of filing this report, was beaten blue-black, with his face soaked in blood.

Enyimba came from behind to defeat Kano Pillars at the Sani Abacha stadium in a rescheduled NPFL fixture.

Pillars took the lead in the 20th minute, when Rabiu Ali struck from a freekick to put his side ahead, as he ended a personal a run of 9 hours 45 minutes of play without a goal in the NPFL.

The first half ended 1 – 0 in favour of Pillars.

With the return from the break, the visitors began to pile the pressure right from the first blast of the whistle and were rewarded with a goal through Nzube Anaezemba in the 51st minute.

With just eight minutes from regulation time, Ike Thankgod struck to silence the entire Sani Abacha stadium, as the Aba Warriors ran away with all three points. It ended Kano Pillars 1 – 2 Enyimba.

With this development, Pillars could be sanctioned by the League Management Company, for failing to provide security at their stadium.

SMH for Nigeria League, was it not the same pillars that defeated sunshine away and nothing happened. Nigerian league should move from amateur to professional and stop this unnecessary violence.
