Good morning romancelanders, I have always heard different stories about this whole Osu thing especially from Nollywood movies. As a Christian I don't really believe in it, because old things are passed away right? But I really don't know the origin of this Osu thing, Google did not help matters unfortunately. So last night while I was listening to one of those heart to heart programmes on radio, a lady called and was crying that her fiance is about to dump her because they said she is an Osu. It felt so real listening to her cry or maybe it was my new tecno boom J8 headphone that made it sound so real. However, after listening to her I suddenly realized that the guy am going out with is an Igbo guy, so please house how do I ask him if he is an Osu, how do they even know if someone is an Osu? It is not written on the face, am really scared cos I don't want to end up a victim of this achaic tradition. Please I need your advice especially the Igbo people here. Thanks.

Osu are people are protected by d gods or people who committed their self to D oracle 4 protection .in some places they are people whose sole Existence is for blood sacrifice to the gods,so in absent of that dz days!

This Osu thing should have stopped by now but the wickedness of men will not let it stop. The truth is that many people died trying to stop traditions like slavery and we can't learn from history how white men and blackmen and coloured people fought together to stop slavery. The Osu thing is fuelled by frustrated people who enjoy to boast that they are freeborn and on sunday they carry big bibles to church and don't be surprised seeing them speak in tongues. Love whomever God has given to you if you are not accepted in your area leave them behind and relocate God will bless you for taking a bold step as he continues to bless many so called Osu families while the so called freeborn continue to live in frustration

Damn! This is big time crazy! If tomorrow, my parent or elders that go to church on Sundays and morning mass and vigils tells me that they discovered my wife to be whom the love I have for her has removed my eyeballs is an osu and I can't marry her, God knows I'll no longer be part of their family because I don't see any reason why a Christian family (any christian family at all) should condemn an homo sapien in this century because of what he/she is not responsible for.
