Niger Delta Avengers Are Criminals Serving Their Masters Interests - Ex- Militant Leader President General of The National Coalition of Niger Delta Ex-Agitators, NCNDE-A, has refered to those behind the renewed attacks on the oil and gas facilities in Niger Delta region as ex-militants who were frustrated by their disappointment in the 2015 presidential election and are currently serving their masters’ interests. Speaking through its National President, Mr Israel Akpodoro, Saturday in Abuja, the ex-agitators condemned the call for vandals of oil facilities to drop their weapons and embrace dialogue with the federal government. He therefore urged the Federal Government to order the JTF to go after them in full force and safe the national assets from further attacks. Akpodoro expressed shock over the comment credited to the General Paul Boro-led Amnesty Office noting that those behind the renewed militancy and armed struggle against the Federal Government were enemies of Nigeria and were common criminals who should be treated as such. According to the Urhobo-born ex-militant, those who claimed responsibilities for deliberate destruction of oil facilities in the Niger Delta region were serving the interests of their leaders who he noted were those who failed in the 2015 presidential elections describing them as bad managers of defeat as he questioned the rational behind Boro’s comments. Akpodoro warned of dangers in dialogue with so called Avengers Group,he said have chosen the path of destruction noting that those responsible for the renewed vandalism were ex-militants who are already receiving stipends from the FG saying there were no new militants in the region but errand boys for prominent ex-agitators. READ ALSO: Pipeline Bombings: FG Warns Niger Delta Avengers Strictly He called on the FG to declare a total war on the economic saboteurs in the region while raising questions on the sincerity of General Boroh adding that such call leaves him on the path of unpatriotsm. The ex-militant further challenged Boroh to provide proof that members of the self acclaimed Niger Delta Avengers were not known ex-militants. “We won’t allow anyone to play games with our national good. Those criminals are ex-militants serving their masters’ interests. The FG should order the JTF to go after them in full force. “It’s either Boroh is deliberately providing soft landing for wanted criminals or acting on gross ignorance. We understand his campaign and already we know his aims and objectives. Since the deadline for surrendering of weapons by militants expired long ago, one wonders why the Amnesty office plans a new amnesty for criminal?” the ex-militant leaders quarried. This one go dey chop better money.... When amnesty end, him tune go change. This amnesty sef, they should have given a time frame for it...It should have been a human and capital development initiative instead of dishing money to criminals. As it is, ending the amnesty program is akin to the return of militancy. Paying a certain people without addressing problems that led to the crisis, you are breeding a newer generation of militants. I rue for our government with no initiatives...Even with the 13% derivation fund. I am a Niger Deltan who doesnt believe in violence, but i see no gains at all....no jobs, no prospect. Even with the education and all. But billions are budgeted yearly for ex-militants, NDDC has always been an avenue to steal money and self service. Even to get scholarship for school was not feasible. I am hopeful of a better future though. |
