Works with devices that have dual band i guess, not too sure. I have a mifi dat is 5ghz too, only connects to devices with dual band. Please someone correct me if i'm wrong.

There is no tweak to make it work... Once your device has a dual band, you will be able to connect. It doesn't matter if the source device is a dual band or not.

The problem might be from the device/router config

I personally use my new device till the battery gets to 0%,I would then charge afterwards.
