Modified: After researching on your hypothesis the reason it can't play on HD + High currently according to most users is that the Processor is yet to be optimised for PUBG.

yea, but the actually gaming test gave the 660 an edge over 665 both in pubg, call of duty nd few i cant remember, all graphics settings in those games were tuned down for 665 cos it sacrificed graphics for power efficiency. If u ve note 7, getting the note 8 won't be such a gud idea.

Now let me explain the two processors.

SD 660 has a faster clock CPU Speed than the SD 665. 2.20Ghz Vs 1.8Ghz.

But the SD 660 is built on a 14nm process and the SD 665 is built on a more efficient 11nm process.

The reduced speed of the SD 665 also aids the battery efficiency.

The SD 665 however houses a better GPU, DSP(ISP) for gaming and image processing than the SD660.

It also have native support for the 48Mp sensor which the SD 660 didn't have.

I was actually looking at camera and build quality. But even the difference in 665 & 675 aint much. Their gpu power is Adreno 610 & 612 respectfully. Dont let the incremental figures fool (not being insultive abeg) you. Its just marketing, most of these socs are thesame, just clocked differently (with root you can overclock a little). SD 675 hast faster cores but still thesame architecture with 665. I had the chance of holding both before making a choice, no difference in app speed to me, they launched with equal speed and played thesame games. But Mi A3 had better battery backup at the end, which was my winning choice.

If the difference was so much, note 8 would be using sd675 and not sd 665. But why pay more for a little more power. Notwithstanding, note 7pro is a very good phone.

Snapdragon 675 is using Kryo 460 cores which are based on Cortex A76 Architecture, which is TWO GENERATIONS ahead of the Kryo 260 cores which is based on Cortex A73 architecture.. And incase u don't know, this is the 3rd time Snapdragon (and in extension Xiaomi) is reusing this Kryo 260 cores..

Snapdragon 636,660 and 665 are all using the same Kryo 260 cores.. Only difference between Snapdragon 665 and its 636/660 brothers is that is built on a slightly newer 11nm Process which is why it is more power efficient; but the Snapdragon 675 is also built on the same 11nm Process Soo, not only is it much faster, it is even more efficient than Snapdragon 636,660 and 665 because of its newer architecture which gives it a higher IPC than the rest..
*IPC Means Instructions-Per-Clock; u can Wikipedia it to know more*

Snapdragon 675 is an excellent midrange chip, and yes as u said most of these Chips are the same, but not for this one.. On the GPU side, yes the gap between 610 and 612 is not much, but compared to what u get on the CPU side, the 675 is so much more better and one can say the little boost from the 612 GPU is just icing on the cake..

I'm skipping the 665 completely because I know next year's batch of Redmi Notes are gona pack something much more substantial as an Upgrade to current Note 7 users like me
