RESIDENTS of Goru village of Arewa Local Goverrnment Area of Kebbi State were greeted with a horrific scene last Thursday, May 5, when a man butchered his three children.

The man identified as Mamman Dankarami, after committing the crime, attempted to com­mit suicide by plunging into a well.

Reporterslab gathered that he was however res­cued by neighbours be­fore he coulddrown. Neighbours gave the ages ofthe children as four, two andfive months.

Confirming the inci­dent, the Sole Admin­istrator of Arewa Local Government, Alhaji Mu­hammadu Dankaku said the culprit was suspect­ed to be suffering from mental problem.

The Police Public Re­lations Officer, PPRO, Kebbi State Police Com­mand, Nafi’u Abubakar confirmed the incident.

According to him the culprit had been admit­ted at psychiatric hospital in Jega local Government of Kebbi StateHis wife, Malama Naf­isat, it was gathered went into a coma after realizing the fate that had befallen her children.
