Nigeria is the most populated black nation in the world with over 160 million people and this number is still growing everyday. A simple analysis is this. If there are 160 million Nigerians then this people all need access to clean potable water no matter their age. As a matter of fact, nursing mothers are advised to give clean water to their babies, if these delicate babies can take water then everyone as a matter of fact must take clean water for healthy living.

Water is the most consumed edible substance in the world, little wonder why the production of bottle water or sachet water business is very lucrative and actively booming. Now because of the availability of the raw material, this business has been tagged one of the biggest businesses to start however, the startup capital is in the range of N1,000,000 to N1,500,000 hence people with little startup capital will find it very hard to set up such a booming manufacturing business.

If you have the passion for this business, all hope is not lost as you can start with the distribution part of the business. Yes! this is the most important part of this all lucrative business. Hence starting with it is also a very good start. Currently a bag of sachet water goes for N100 from the manufacturer and the distributor can sell for N150 which is a whopping 50% profit from each bag sold. That is not all, because of the high competition in the market, some of these companies go as far as giving a promo of Buy 10 Get 1. This means when you buy 10 bags you get 1 extra bag. This means 10% profit already before sales, if you add it to the 50% profit you will make from the sales of each then you can boast of 65% profit from every 10 bags, now which real investment can give you this such amount? Not even the fixed deposit can do that. Hence sachet water business alone is by 600% times better investment than fixed deposit of any Nigerian Bank. This analysis is just for sachet water, the bottle water is also another goldmine. Now the bottle water business doesn’t have any steady price because of the different price tag fixed by different companies.
