By now, you must have heard that Pep Guardiola will be Manchester City's coach next season.
Was he fired by Bayern Munich one may ask. No. In fact he took Bayern to another Bundesliga
title this year. It just happened that Guardiola is an entitled fellow who believes he can coach
any team he wants anytime, anywhere. So despite the fact that Manuel Pellegrini is currently
doing very well as Manchester City coach, all it took was a call from Pep to City bosses to get
him fired. A lot of teams are looking for new coaches. Why didn't Pep choose from one of those
teams?

Now, Pep is coming to Man City with the assumption that they will play in the Champions league
next season. Well, that assumption is now hanging in the balance. If Manchester United can win
their last two matches, then City will be relegated to the Europa league. Playing in the Europa
league will be the worst thing to ever happen to Guardiola. For one, he will no longer be able to
attract all the top players he plans to bring to City. No top player in their right minds will sign for
a team destined for the Europa league. Apart from the fact that it is a second rate competition,
the matches are played on Thursdays, giving players little time to recover for weekend games.

For this reason, I am now a Manchester United supporter for today and next week. A win against
West Ham and Bournemouth will guarantee that City finishes in 5th place.

NB: This post is based on the assumption that Arsenal will win or at least draw their last match
against relegated Aston Villa. If they lose, then they may be the ones playing in the Europa league.
