The Catholic ‎Bishop of Abeokuta, Most Reverend Peter Odetoyinbo has decried the frequent attacks on farmers and destruction of their farmlands by suspected Fulani herdsmen and urged law enforcement agencies to be alive to their responsibilities.

The Bishop urged the Federal Government and the security agencies to expose and prosecute the sponsors of armed Fulani herdsmen in Nigeria.

Bishop Odetoyinbo gave the charges during an interactive session with journalists at the SS Peter and Paul Catholic Cathedral, Abeokuta, Ogun State to mark the 50th anniversary of World Communications Day.

The cleric stated that some highly placed Nigerians know the sponsors and masterminds of the killer herdsmen but have refused to reveal their identities.

He noted that it was imperative to curb mindless killings and wanton destruction of property in the country, stressing that Nigerians must always promote justice, fairness and truth.
