Episode 10 Job was now a shadow of himself, a skinny body with a large unkept huge beard covering his face, dripping sores all over and an itch virtually every where that most times makes him burst into tears cus of the severity of his itch, he had to use a broken piece of a pot to aid his scratch game. It has been 1 week now since his Wife left but not after the usual pleadings for him to renounce God and just die off. Just 3 days after his strange itchy sores suddenly appeared, he was sitting on one of the back chairs in his yard - his house was the only renaming property he now owned over run by weeds and dirt all over as no one was there to tend to the yard. the flowers now grew uncharted like a wild flower and the whole environment seemed deserted as no single soul can be seen within 50 yards of his compound. All his servants were either dead or had run away in fear of the strange ill fate that befell the others, so the compound was unkept and bushy. Job didn't know when a tear escaped his eye as he looked at the flowers in the garden that now seemed more haggard and untrimmed than a wild rose. He could vividly remember his daughter humming to the tune of a song as she carefully tended the flowers, her voice always complimenting the chipping melody of the birds that lived on the big oak tree in a cool breezy evening, now even the birds seem to have deserted the oak tree and everything was silent with an unsaid malice swaying with the stale air. Job sitting in front of his house looking at the bushy yards, unkept flowers still scratched his sores with the scraped piece of a broken pot thinking when everything was much brighter and he couldn't help crying deep within him. the cries could not escape his throat as he was too hungry to muster enough strength for the rigorous exercise of cry, they had last eaten yesterday afternoon. Just then his wife walked out with her clothe sack fully rested on her head and her face worked into a tight one with a lot of disgust written on them. Job jolted up seeming to trigger the itches from the back, he winced and started scratching them still looking lost at his wife who had her luggage ready to go. "what's happening?" he managed to ask amidst the unbearable itches "what is going on here? "what does it look like it's going on?" she threw back aggressively hissing. "i am leaving you for good Job" "what?" he blurted out widening his eyes. "Yes, i can't bear this suffering anymore and i certainly cannot bear seeing you every morning with these disgusting sores all over you" she said tapping her legs impatiently on the floor. "But... but you can't leave me now, i need you now that everyone else has deserted me" Job sounded throaty as he choked back soft sobs that were building up at the back of this throat. "Job, i don tire abeg free me" she yelled back picking up her small bag that rested on her leg "Why not simply renounce God and die off, at least it's better than this life of total misery" she said in a manner of mean advice and headed out through the now bushy avenue and out she was. Job could hardly believe his life, just when he thinks his situation cannot get worse there is always something to prove him wrong. He stared at the fading figure of his wife with sad wet eyes, aching bones and heart, a heavy sigh with an air of pity and sadness, there was nothing he could do about it. - - - - - Back in heaven Jesus was having a very boring day, it had started on a very bleak note from the first time he got up. First it was the arch angel Meriel who practically left a boiling water in his platinum bath tub with blue sapphire rims. She was always in charge of fixing his bath water making sure it was the right temperature with Mel petals on top before announcing it was ready then he'd go take his morning bath. Today he wondered where her mind was when fixing the bath water that she forgot to dilute the hot water with cold water to get a warm temperature. He had literally ran out of the bathroom yelling on top of his voice when he dipped himself into the hot bath water oblivious of the impending doom. "Mumu them no deh ever pay attention" he hissed shuddering a bit as he recalled the stinging pain of the water, the day hadn't gotten any better afterwards. he decided to go to the throne room to see if he could convince God to quite his silly game with Lucifer, got up with difficulty wincing as his sore blistered skin pricked a bit. The throne room looked dull and dim, he looked at the throne but it was empty the 24thrones were there but 1 seat was empty and he found that really weird. "where is my father?" he asked Sachel who just pointed at his back. Jesus saw God sitting on a plain chair with an equally elderly figure sitting on another saying some things he couldn't make out. he went nearer "whats happening Dad? you are not on your throne" he asked ok coming close. "dude i am seriously tired of this seriously" God replied with an extremely frustrated face looking pale. "what happened?" Jesus asked "Ok i got bored, wanted to pull off an adventure by trying to have a conversation with one of these guys " he said pointing at the elderly figure beside him who was obviously one of the 24elders. "Bad idea!" Jesus muttered. "Geeeez you are so right, can you imagine this dude can't even say hi but kept repeating that 'holy holy holy crap!" God said almost yelling hitting a face palm. Jesus chuckled a bit but the pains in his body made it a herculean task. Just then the elderly figured came again with 'holy holy holy is the lord our God............' "Oh mehn please e don do just go go go!!" God yelled at him watching as he immediately got up bowed and went back to his seat as they all waited for God to seat on his throne so they'd resume the worship which was only what they were created for. God sighed and looked up at Jesus "You don't look too good son, whats up?" he asked "Father i wanted to ask if you could cut the game with Lucifer and leave the poor Job alone" "Oh Job, yeah i haven't heard from Lucifer lately but last i heard he poured a chronic sore itch on the guy that he literally scratches it with a broken pot piece, that so funny!" God burst into a laugh but Jesus maintained a very mean unapproving look. God's laugh slowly waned as his laughing face slowly turned into a blank one as he looked at Jesus' stale look. "What? It's funny!" He said throwing his hands up in a 'what?' gesture. "it's so funny that i forgot to laugh" Jesus replied sarcastically still with his mean look made worse by the pain on his body, slowly walks away. "You've got to loosen up a bit you jerk!" God yelled after him "serious i thought it was funny" he told himself. "Anyway i've got to call Lucifer and see whats new" Continued in next episode..... 6 Likes 6 Shares |

Episode 11 Smattering tune of drums buttered in the whistling blares of a mastered flute cooked to make a fine meal of melodious music, the noisy clatters of little cymbals, bangs from drunk merry goers oozing from the creaky tired tables as they banged their clenched fist on it complimenting the tune of the music while their feet and head danced away feverishly and the sparkling foam of malt-bear gleaming at them. Girls with long satill skirts dancing, their long legs vaguely visible on transparent materials they wore, tiny fabrics of cotton finely done from the very heart of sumer, materials of green braided in gold threads covering their breasts as their drove the men wild with their twists and turns. The air smelled strongly of ale and tobacco, waiters ran busy with orders from every corner delivering huge pints of ale, mugs of beer to the ever impatient customers. It was a week rest day and as it usually goes every tavern in Edom sold to their very last brew of beer and ale, people sort relieve after a week of struggles. In the boarder heart of Derul out on the western land of edom the tavern of Jerkenbel thrived live with activities, shouts could be heard from every corner and men with filthy beards drank with reckless abandon spilling beer anywhere they could spare. The music kept many on their toes, some feminine figures lingering in the shadow with long lashes darkened by the dark juice of a edel flower, long gold earings jingling with their steps, flimsy materials covering their mouths as they sort after eager men with good pay for the night. the week rest day was always a busy one for the country harlots, they made double the money they'd make all week in that single day. "Excuse me lovely lady do you have time to spare?" a man - huge and swollen from alcohol would ask in an uncaring baritone croak. "Only if you have gold to give" they'd reply the prospect customer In the corner of the tavern two men sat talking with mugs of beer littering the rusty looking wooden table, they were whispering peering their eyes through the stuffy room that stank of both alcohol and sweat riddled in fine tobacco. Sorting the maze of random figures of dancers another man, tall with dark hairs and well groomed beards wriggled his way out of the mesh of uncaring dancers lifting his huge pint of ale to save it from spilling. Joining the two men on the table he dropped his pint with a bang and dumping his weight on the wooden chair which gave out a complimenting creak. "It's being long fellas?" he greeted beaming down a broad grin. "Welcome Bildad, yeah we have missed your company" The stout one with blond hairs replied. "Thank you Zophar" Bildad said. "How was your trip to Nineveh?" the other one asked. "it was fun all the way Eliphaz, Nineveh is a city you all should and must visit soon" Bildad clapped out in excitement. "I always heard that city was lit" Eliphaz said almost immediately. "Surely it is, i almost forgot my purpose of going once the sparkles of the city life got hold of me" Bildad said laughing. they all laughed and clanged their alcohol containers in a merry cheers, these were the three friends of Job. Eliphaz- short and fat with a gluttony problem, Bildad -tall and well groomed with an always smiling face, Zophar - small and stout with weird blond hairs. they have been friends with Job as children, they'd take their father's sheep to the hill country to graze, Job's father had the least number of sheep and they made fun of Job when they came to the hill country. While they counted their sheep in hundreds Job came with his father's 96sheep always praying the pregnant ewe would deliver soon so their counts of sheep may at least get up to a hundred. Their were good friends none the less, scouted the country side together for greener pastures, played dodge on adolescent girls of their age in the city, hunted for little games to eat for fun and were close door neighbours. Job always was the least noisy and outgoing of the 4 band of troubles, there was this one time he got caught by Old man Ren while they were stealing his apple in his small dirty yard, Zophar, bildad and eliphaz had sneaked away before he could take one step and old men Ren's hawk precise eye caught him instead. "Take a look at that woman standing there" Eliphaz addressed his two friends, bildad quickly removed the pint of Ale from his gulping mouth. "which one?" he asked. "that one standing near the window" Eliphaz replied gesturing forward with his face. On a shadowy corner of the stuffed room, a tall overly fair harlot lingered with her lower face covered.. "you are referring to the harlot?" Zophar came in "Yes that one" "what about her?" Zophar asked curiously peering into his friend's face. Eliphaz paused a bit took a large gulp of beer and then stared back "that's marul" he said. "which Marul?" Bildad asked. "Job's wife Marul, how many Maruls do you know?" he replied impatiently. "what the.....!!!" came a surprised Bildad. "I always thought that harlot looked somehow familiar" Zophae chipped in. "What's Marul doing here as a harlot?" Bildad asked seeming lost. "So you didn't hear about Job's ordeal?" "I did, caught a whisper of the news in Nineveh" "ehee, after Job's strange and sudden ill fate, Marul couldn't bear it any longer, she left him and came out to the western province where she now lives as a harlot, you know Marul loves money more than life" Eliphaz whispered. "By Baal's balls!!!" Bildad yelled with his hands flying to his head mouth wide open. zophar rather wore a grin of mischief. "I think we should pay Job a visit, he was our friend remember. we should go and see him" He suggested. "You are right" Zophar said. "I heard also" Eliphaz who always was the gossip came again " i heard Job's ordeal was a punishment from God, rumour says amidst all that pretence of being a righteous pious man Job must have done something terrible to deserve such horrifying fate" "they might be some truth there" Bildad nodded. Zophar got up immediately after taking a sip of his beer, straightened his creased robe and made to go off. "where are you going? Bildad questioned "to get my share of Marul's honey of course" he smirked mischievously. "What?, by baal's balls she's our friend's wife" bildad said in disbelief. "She was, now she's a harlot. I have always dreamt about that woman now here she is delivered in a platter just for a few gold coins" Zophar said and strode stylishly towards the window corner. ..Continued in next episode.. Cc.
