There are three women who mean the world to me and who I'd be willing to do anything for. These are; my mother, Acct. Mrs. Iniovosa Orhero; my ONLY sister, Angela Orhero and Dame Sandra James (Jasysandra). One of these three women was born on this auspicious day and I have the burden upon me to honor her, not just by wishing her a happy birthday, as expected, but by making her the object of the best form of creativity I can conjure. To this end, I decided to write a poem for Dame Sandra James, my heart throb, who has been with me for years and counting and has remained strong and perseverant despite my many human flaws.

To Sandra James:
We met at the crossroads where others leave
Smiles were the attraction that did the magic
Your eyes are like the rarest gold
that even Dubai lacks.
I remember your initial rhetoric; words from the fountain of youth
where even Shakespeare's 'dark lady' lacked the muse for.
I remember the rush of rusty blood when I stole a glance from afar:
At the entrace to the "White Chalk" palace.

Words rushed from the latent cesspool of emotions
Stirred by your smooth hands
Smiles stole the hermitage in my heart created by things seen and unseen.
Even the greatest of sceptics
would believe in reincarnation
when they gaze at your Penelopic personage!
Ulysses would never had conceived leaving for sea
Had he been with you.
No poet would think twice of words
when your lips gyrate even in silence.
Yanni would have won more Grammies than Adele
Had he met you the way I did.

I remember a transited soul personality, F.D
Once uttered that you are an Athenian beau
Just by glancing at your stillness; devoid of full personage
How much more when he encounters you:
Alas! His thoughts were mauled by things unseen & unheard.
In another life, he would have philosophised your intellectual beauty.
This is just one of those who uttered words:
Sometimes words are silences heard!
I hear the silences of those who speak of your pristine ebony beauty.

With you, there is no time; no spatial considerations;
Eternity is a moment's breath; nothing is non-existent.
Sisyphus would gladly move his boulder for your smiles
Tantalus would gladly fast for hunger of your eyes
Poseidon would give up the sea to kiss you on land
Even Hades would aestheticize the underworld to impress you.
Thank the gods that the Titans did not steal a glance at you
Lest Zeus's coup be doomed for the sake of living:
Living to please every marrow of your bones.

Sometimes, futility, chaos and absurdity steal the moment
but then I remember that existence birthed beauty of which you represent
And at that moment, I regain faith in the purpose of life:
To attain beauty and perfection.
You are my personal avatar:
The smiles you wear bring clarity and grace,
You are proof that humans can strive for and attain eternity.

There are so much I want to say:
Things words may not be beautiful enough to convey-
I have thought of them all day
like many thanks for keeping me at bay
and ironing my days with your morning face:
One I can't get enough of when every sun rise in its eternal transit.
There are many more to say:
Like the dreams your nurture with me, like a toddler
and the words you say which charge my day
in ways no electricity can ever attain.
There are even so much more to say:
Like the days when you look to me and say:
"You are heavy with weight, come and lay"
And off I go into the azure mountains
Where the only things that matter are aesthetics and the intellects
and lest I forget:
You are one of the best brains I have seen for any lady-
I am very proud to say.
You complete me in every way
Both said and unsaid.

These words are not enough for you:
I have wronged you several times
and even several more times, you smile.
The world has tortured you several times:
yet you smile and forge with cosmic love-
You have seen the toughest of times
You have shown the best of smiles.
On this day, I sing of a celestial dame
whose personage has no name
I sing of time that has passed by:
The best times of my life so far.
I hear the spanish madrigal singing in my head:
I see a dame that deserves a Mona Lisa portraiture
But I cannot paint, nor sing
I have words; words which you tickle by your existence:
I have done you wrong
These words are not enough
But on this day, be kind to a poet
And accept a humble gift.
