The recent outrage where the Prime Minister of Britain called Nigeria a fantastically corrupt country has attracted a lot of comments. In a recent development, a professor of English in a UK university who pleaded to remain anonymous stated that the phrase "fantastically corrupt " even though used in a paradoxical sense is a wrong usage of English language. He continued by stating that it is surprising that it is a native speaker that produced such blunder.

See, let us leave this matter. Nigeria is corrupt. Simple. We get the message. Communication has taken place.

We have since moved on to more important things. Our minds are on the increase in pump price of PMS and the probable strike for next week.

A professor who wants to remain anonymous. Abegi make him just remain so. Story.

Op, the Prof should park well, its correct when used with respect to Nigeria, looking at it from all angles. One of the consequences of the degree of corruption that has bedevilled the Nigerian system is what we're battling with this day.

Lool.

Fantastic is also interchangeable with large.

So, "fantastically" in this context means, "largely".

Tell ya "Engli Professor" to shoot himself in his groin and blow the left side of his brain off lol.
