Govt is supposed to be a continuum, but according to Nigerian culture, the initiator of a project usually usurps the glory even if he only contributed 10% of the required funds for the job. But the above mentality is quite retrogressive and unfortunate, and it forces new leaders to abandon old projects to initiate their own for which they would take the glory.

For once, if we as Nigerians are to be sensible in ascribing glory, as much as the initiator of a project can be given some praise, the bulk of the praise should go to the person who completed the largest chunk of the project.

Now whether you like it or not, jonathan may take the praise for initiating the 2nd niger bridge project, but the fact remains that his govt contributed only N10bn to the construction of a N130bn bridge; if peradventure, the bridge is completed by this administration (which was sensible enough not to abandon it), then we all know who really deserves the glory.
Intelligent by half, we must give kudos to the person who completed it... Yes! But not the one that completed it while earlier badmouthing the same project! So,show us the change if you are keen to complete what you earlier condemned!

Most likely, this report doesn't include all the roads. Just like EN/PH express is not here and I can remember Ekweremadu crying that the road(initially allocated 7-8 billion) and others in other regions were underfunded while the Lag to Ib was allocated 55 billion. So, that road can't be removed entirely! Not possible!!
I think they should just upload the full breakdown of the projects captured in tho project to avoid unnecessary speculation because I too remember that was it on Monday or Tuesday I read in the print where ekweremadu was qouted as saying those reps from se( to be honest they dont inspire that much) would monitor the se rd projects captured and he named Enugu ph rd,Enugu Onitsha rd( I initially doubted this one because I was not seeing it captured in the earlier budget bandied around) and aba ikot ekpene.

The subsisting contract for that road was awarded by Dr. Jonathan in December 2014 to RCC at 24.2 billion naira!
These contracts have been awarded several times by several regimes but at the end, it amounts to nothing. What the people want is simply for the road to be fixed, no excuses! .... and the glory goes to the one who actually can do the fixing, simple!

I like to give glory to the person that completes the project not the initiator. If a government cannot initiate and complete a project in 8 years then that government is incompetent, But in this case, the project which is a PPP project by the way was already awarded with the contractors mobilized on site. What is just needed of the government was to perform their own part of the contractual agreement which is now looking like a big deal
It's a big deal because we've been going back and forth on these projects for over 20 years. There is hardly any administration that doesnt talk or claim they spend money on these projects but it always amounts to nothing. All the people want is for the freaking project to be completed.

They can go any level just to discredit Buhari. Jonathan's 2nd Niger Bridge was a scam and was not materialised through out his 8 years in power.

Even if they are part or not part of 5% doesn't mean you should twist stuff to mock them? In a sane society Buhari mentioned of 5% would have sack him..imagine referring to Texas or Minnesota as 5% of US because you are from NYC, LA or Washington?

The problem of Nigerians lies in ethnicity and this will continue for the next 100 yes except there is reorientation

Badmouth what?.... the badmouth is to the sleaze and deceit surrounding the award of the project, not to the project itself. Almost every administration since IBB have been promising to execute this project but even after some claim they have released moneys, it all ends up as a ghost project. This endless treachery and trickery deserves to be castigated and it is exactly what is being badmouthed.

When you claim you want to do a job but you wait 5 years until few weeks to elections before you show seriousness, you will surely be badmouthed. Unlike in the past regimes where they throw out the old contracts and initiate everything afresh (to take glory), this is the first reasonable admin which has applied common sense and continued from where the last admin stopped, and this approach saves a lot of time, money and bureaucracy.

You asked what the CHANGE was?.... probably in your own world, CHANGE means abandoning old projects and beginning new ones. But sorry, the CHANGE here is in the 'common sense' to CONTINUE from where the last guy stopped.

Ask your Hero aka stealing is not corruption. He signed the contract while in power.Ngige came out to inform the Easterners then in 2015 but because Ngige is an Apc man.You all shouted him down.

Until he does the mentioned, I still see KANU as an opportunist.
