Nigeria is a great sporting nation with majority of our populace being avid football followers and fans. As a sports surgeon I have come across many athletes with injuries, a common trend I have observed is that they all ascribe their injuries to one form of “spiritual” attack or another. They tend to blame their rivals or competitors. The truth is that modern sports medicine has come of age and most injuries can actually be treated if diagnosed early. With adequate knowledge of good training and warming up techniques most injuries can also be prevented.
